I get annoyed with her sometimes for causing other people's deaths, but the truth it, that's just brainwashing talking - she didn't cause anyone else's death. Gilead did. And realistically in situations like this, it's impossible to protect everyone. The only thing that annoys me a bit about the new season is that in June's testimony she specifies the date of events, placing the events in present day, which kind of ruined the immersion and means people watching it for years to come will have trouble identifying with it.
I think there is for sure that kind of essence about June, I think the thing that made me most uncomfortable about June this season is how she was pushing Emily and the other survivors to be more angry and vengeful and I'm not really sure if that's helpful for them or not as people in the long run. But I don't think putting a time frame should change if people can identify with it or not as it's not based on real-life events. I think you can relate to people's experiences in some ways irrespective of the time they take place in. Heck, some media is not even set on this planet and people can still relate to those experiences and characters so I don't think it would weigh that heavily on it.
