I'm so sorry about the algo stuff, it's really brutal. I'm an artist and my friends are artists and its stifling us all. No one can get engagement anywhere. It's defeating to work hard on something and then get buried under more popular accounts because of an algorithm. I hope you have a good support group of friends and you're able to hype each other up. You have a lot of fans and people you've helped over the years-- myself included. You're one of the few I've watched consistently ever since I discovered ASMR. No one does technical, clean ASMR like you do!! You're truly THEEEE OG
I get when people keep talking about how the algorithm is ruthless and whatnot, but I feel like we just don’t take into consideration that there’s a LOT more ASMR channels now that are competing for views compared to like 2017. It’s just not as easy to get a million views per video like Dr. T used to get. And ASMRists in general took a hit in their views and it’s understandable as this type of content has been going for a while now. And honestly 100k-200k consistent average views per video for a 500k sub channel is still good enough. I wish doc the best but his channel isn’t anywhere near dying at all.
@@TheSirythere are very few men who do ASMR, compared to the thousands upon thousands of women and the large portion of them that make low effort videos. Not dragging all women into this of course lol
@@TheSiryEhhh they definitely took a hard hit once a lotta the “females” started taking over posting videos of them making “ASMR” videos that are extremely low effort and is literally just them wearing revealing clothing in front of a camera for 4 hours.. I’m not saying every female AMSRtist does this but there’s a large percentage that put little effort and get more views than Doc who puts in a lot of effort.

Actually, my boyfriend (at the time) and I used to joke about your characters and reference your common sayings. We would laugh together and love how no one else knew what the heck we were talking about! I actually found out he watched your videos when I was scrolling through the comments of one night and saw his username and profile picture. You were a lot smaller of a channel back then! Mostly because I was scared of anyone finding my channel back when I posted videos because high schoolers are visceral, man. But I wanted to say something for engagement purposes and just to thank you for everything you’ve done for me for all these years. There are many nights when I was really, really going through it, but your videos (along with a couple other asmrtists I’ve been consistently following) have really helped me feel safe in my own skin, and like I was somewhere a lot safer. Safe enough to finally get the rest I so desperately needed. You and massage ASMR are some of the earliest people I found when I first started watching. I always get sad when Dr. T talks about RUclips's algorithm. It must be really sad for him to see his videos, which are high quality and well made, barely get 100k views while other ASMR creators post the same generic videos everyday and always get 300k+ views easily. And not to mention female ASMR creators who do "sexual ASMR" using revealing clothes and doing those triggers only weirdos like. It's sad to see Dr. T's amazing content being buried under below average content because the algorithm says so. But hey, at least you have your loyal viewers like me and the other ones who are commenting.
