I struggle with the concept of respect... At least my husband says I do. I grew up without a father but with really strong female models. I don't understand what respect means in practice. They say to respect, but never seem to give practical examples. Maybe it's as Mason said, following the golden rule. I don't know.😟😜😜
Thank you for watching and for your comment. You bring up a very valid point. We always go to the bible for help on these kinds of things, because the world can tell us something entirely different or it can be confusing. Colossians 3:18 says, "Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord." This doesn't mean that women are to be abused or mistreated, absolutely not. Rather, wives are to be subject, or respectful to their husbands. And husbands are to “Love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.” When husbands and wives each focus on their God-ordained responsibilities toward each other, there will be harmony, not abuse. A husband who loves his wife the way the Lord instructs would never harm her. As far as examples go, I would say respect is found in the attitude with which you relate to your husband. Are your words and actions coming from a place of love? If so, you are respecting your husband well. It's not always easy, but it can be done. We are praying for your marriage.
My wife is so addicted to social meadia that she spends the whole day sitting on her phone. She even admitted that some time when shes on social meadia, that things on there will make her lust and she ends up watch photography. I'm not perfect but it's hard to respect her at times cause her mood is always changing! I tryed telling her to delet all her social media but she just can't. It's like she chooses social meadia over me.
They seem to be portraying the (practically) perfect couple yet no relationship can be perfect as we are all imperfect, sinners (saved or not). I may just be being cynical but in my experience, people who portray their life, relationship, etc. as close to perfect are usually hiding the bad. Not finding this series helpful to be honest 🤷♀️
Thank you so much for your feedback! You are absolutely right that no person (or marriage) is perfect. These videos aren't meant to prop them up as an example of the perfect marriage, but hopefully they can inspire others to take similar steps toward making their marriage better.
This hit my soul, thank you Jesus 🌻🌻🌻
