    I've had this since I was in my 20s... Diagnosed in my 40s. At the time, the doctor told me there was nothing that could be done. It was what it was. However, it appears 18 years later, there might be some hope for me!

      So did you seek treatment? What happend

    • @LaCroixCreative
      @LaCroixCreative 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Stayler17 I did! I went about a year ago, and another retina specialist in the Chicago area again said nothing could be done. Then, when I moved to southern TN, a doctor here thought a secondary condition of macular edema COULD be helped. Saw a retina specialist in a nearby Alabama town that is treating that. He doesn't think anything can be done to improve the CSR, but he did think he might be able to stop the fact that it appears to be getting worse. I've had the first shot. I'll get it every 30 days. It DOES appear to be lighter (not so dark), although the spot in the center of my eye and the wavy lines haven't gotten any better. Holding out hope that maybe it will improve.

      @LaCroixCreative I've had this for 10 months now. Did you lose complete vision in that eye and did you ever get it in the other eye? They are saying nothing can be done for me either and I'm so scared I won't see my children grow and won't be able to drive. I have two spots in one eye (one spot is very big.) And a small one in the other. I'm so scared. Like, I can't sleep and panicked.

I have the same condition for 16 years, but now it's chronic, 1 big spot at the center of the left eye and the right one is following too. I'm almost desperate, which worsens the problem. Good sleeping is fundamental, but I can't sleep well. Too stressed 😮.

      I think stress and negativity are what caused mine to appear. I’m in my early 40s and I have seen my eye doctor 3 times regarding this. It’s in my left eye and lines appear wavy. My Dr asked me if I am competitive and an “A type” personality. Apparently your personality can cause this?! I guess I need to follow your advice because my Dr keeps charging me $200+ per visit to tell me there is nothing we can do but let’s keep monitoring it. It’s so weird that all of a sudden fluid in my left eye is my new normal….

      @sherwoodforester4666 22 дня назад +1

      @marcusarelius Type A personality is definitely a thing with this condition.being competitive and having a detail obsessed mind can affect you greatly,Im type A and have to make myself back off if a project is starting to wind me up!.It's easy for people that don't have an eye condition to say don't stress but when its your sight being lost it's hard to forget and ignore it when its something that's a big deal is there 24,/7.Just focus on what you can control which is improving rest,diet,steady regular exercise that you enjoy ,have fun and meet friends ,get out in nature on long walks with no distractions.Anything where you make time for yourself to free your mind and it will help.Youll get there marcusarelius.

    We describe a case of a 25-year-old male, with a 15-year history of corticoid ointment use for psoriasis, who presented with loss of vision secondary to CSR.
    Conclusions: All topical steroid treatments were discontinued and the patient recovered his vision completely. Although topical corticosteroids are frequently utilized for psoriasis management with a low rate of complication, clinicians should be familiar with this rare yet distressing condition. Furthermore, patients with increased production of endogenous corticosteroids (e.g., those with Cushing's syndrome, hypertension, or obstructive sleep apnea) should be warned of the potential of chorioretinopathy following prolonged use of topical corticosteroids.

Specialist says it may need more than one treatment and to top it off medical insurance do not cover treatment!! I am thinking positive that treatment will do the job first time around. Is there anyone out there that can reassure me that it worked for them?

      @hussinhussin9729 i have slight discoloration every now and then, but mostly its just distorted vision in my right eye. Its not close to perfect, but i can deal with the distortion. Its was the dark spot that was in the center of my vision that was the worst. I dont have the dark spot in my vision now and its been that way for maybe a lil over a year. I can still notice new leaks, but they dont seem to be darkening and im ok with that bc i know ill never have perfect vision again.

      No, But you must not keep training to failure and keep the intensity and volume as low as possible, try morning workouts when cortisol is highest then you have the rest of the day for your Cortisol levels to drop naturally as they should. Go to bed earlier is also a golden rule.

      I was extremely annoyed at my specialist as he led me to believe that the drug/photodynamic therapy would return some of my sight when it was only ever going to halt its progression, which I do not think it has. I do not have good sight in that eye. Re "does it hurt" the only thing that I felt uncomfortable was the thing he used to keep my eye open wide while being treated. I hope this helps and all the best for your treatment.

I'm 30 years old and kinda still need my eyes lol I did photodynamic therapy that helped a bit but not enough unfortunately and I payed $2500 for it. A positive that did come from this is I changed my diet completely so at the very least I feel healthier. There needs to me research on all of this. I understand that it's rare for it to not go away on its own but for those that are stuck with it there needs to be better treatment.
