Thanks Michael! With both of our preferences, we hope folks can find some level of merit in both our opinions of pours. Both route of enjoyment see certainly a-okay and one isn’t necessarily “better” than the other. Cheers to whatever you enjoy most AND to however you enjoy it most!
It's big flavor for a first bourbon but if you proceed with caution and are ready for the proof then it's a hard pour to beat for the money in our book.
Good take on life in general, just like what you like. Dive deep into something if it makes you happy, or enjoy it at the level you are comfortable with. We don't all have to be the same or be experts to enjoy things.
As someone who has never had a good sense of smell I doubt that I’ll ever have the ability to pick out the notes. I do enjoy different bourbons at different times. Good advice. Thanks.
Josh here. Relatable (despite how big my nose is 😂). The point didn’t get made verbally but we hope the overall message was that *not* picking up individual flavor notes doesn’t make one any less of a whiskey enthusiast. It’s a spirit for all to enjoy in our opinions. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Good question. Seems like a chipped tooth waiting to happen, but then again we don’t typically do chilled whiskey. When we do go chilled, we usually go in expecting the journey of dilution over time and like to use silicone trays for one big rock in a glass. If we wanted chilled without dilution we’d likely just store the bottle in the freezer. Glad the stones exist for those that enjoy them though!
First time I tried to nose a glass of Bourbon all I got was a nose full of alcohol. Then I learned to let it set and breath and to swirl it to help that alone. Still not great on the notes in the bourbon but I know it takes time
Great topic. We were planning to cover this next month in our own particular fashion. I was actually planning to get one of those wheels and kits to go full nerd. You guys nailed it though..if you're enjoying it..you're doing it right. Especially if you record it on VHS 😅 -Brian
Nice video, the link you have for the bourbon wheel doesn't work. The other ones work. If you know the name of the wheel I can search for it. Thank you
Thanks for watching and for the heads up biguy! It’s working fine on this end but we updated the link directly to the PDF just in case. It’s the bourbon tasting wheel from the American Bourbon Association. 👍
Great stuff. Whiskey with a touch of pop culture at the end! This is my new hobby as well. I haven’t quite developed the nose yet, but I enjoy trying. One thing I find interesting is that when I’m outside, I can smell a lot more notes. Not sure why. Have you experienced the same?
Sorry this comment slipped through the cracks on us Matt and glad you appreciated the video! It seems about the same for us inside vs. outside, depending on the glass of course (the glencairns tend to funnel the nose better than we can actually nose the pour 😂). Thanks so much for watching!
Great video. Sometimes I do want to pick out notes and flavors but other times I just want to sit back and enjoy the Bourbon like Erin does.

Rolling through all y’all’s older videos. I just love y’all’s content. I’m still developing my palette but I’m like Erin. I just know what I like.
That's what it's all about!
Great video!! Loving your channel
Really appreciate the kind words. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Love your channel
Thanks so much Eddie!
Thanks to your tasting observations, I'll be getting Rare Breed as my first bourbon.

Well said Bo! Things would get pretty boring pretty quickly if all our tastes we homogenized.

What is your thoughts on stone or metal ice cubes?

It definitely takes time, and some days are better than others. The fun is in the journey we think. Cheers!

Love it and can’t wait to see y’all’s take on the topic! And don’t forget-please be kind, rewind. 😆
