28:08 is exactly why I want these stands. When I heard that they would have magnets on the top I too thought about the versatility of removing the fighters from the stands to place on carriers. So glad you pointed that out and showed it in the video. Love your idea of different heights for fighters and bombers. Wonder if 3 heights would be too much? (One different height for each fighter/TCB/STRB).
Yes that would be cool. I had thought about chopping the tac stands a little but it would be a lot more work and the results were already very good with the 2 heights.
My OCD of course will have to kick in. When my airplanes are on thr carriers they will not be on their flight stands. But , as soon as they take off and go airborne they will right away go on their flight stands. Like your self I also agree on the idea that flight stands give your game a sense of depth introducing another dimension to the board. Wartorn hit a home run with this one....!
P-38 "lightning"s Magnetic paint would work well for those, a coat of that along the bottom of the odd-shaped planes will work well with the rare-earth neomodium magnets. Just another option. Siredblood and Dtroy used magnetic paint on their planes and or carriers. Great vid General! Good tip marking the one side of the magnet.
Thanks for making the time to show us these flight stands. When you were talking about scraping some material of with a knife, I was wondering.... how’s the finger?
Those are cool, but I am not redoing my stands. You really need a drill press, that is the tool that keep my sanity in check when I mounted my planes. His quality is better than mine, but my price point is lower on my DIY flight stands.
I'm hoping my copy comes in today. I have never played it before so I can't give you an informed opinion yet. It would also depend on how much disposable income you have too. If you're broke it's never a good idea.
22:45 is exactly why we did them like this. Those planes on the US carriers right in front, paints the perfect picture. Those 3 TAC's almost look like they are floating. $1.00 per stand was the cheapest we could get it with the labour and material cost, but we are still hoping for free shipping! Keep your fingers crossed. You can avoid the polarity issues by taking a bit more time, but it is a trade off. We might be able provide the depth with different sized pegs if requested. Thanks for the shout out GHG! Hope they turned out to be more than expected.
Magnet in the carrier, iron in the stand foot, magnet on the stand top, iron in the plane - then no problem with polarity.
Love the video General, we are very fortunate that Wartorn had the insight and know how on how to make the flight stands.
Thank you D-Troy. I was just as excited to get them in the mail as you were.
Thanks, General! I will incorporate a few of your techniques to begin magnetizing my pieces.

Absolutely great design. They will work great with your carriers.
Thank you very much for these instructions - you saved me from a lot of frustration!🙂
Greetings from Germany,
Martin
Thanks for showing everything about the know how to build them. Useful little tricks.
You're welcome. Glad I could help.

Great vid General!
Good tip marking the one side of the magnet.
Thanks E. These are really powerful magnets for the size. I like having them on the planes instead of the paint because it makes them more versatile.

It's healing well. Almost back to normal but will probably never be quite the same. Thanks for asking.
Thanks GHG! Love your videos. I just ordered some magnets from Aucklands Grainger!
That's good to know that I can find some there if I need more. Thank you for your kind words.
someone needs to sell packs of the planes and the stands already done. i'd buy them.
Hey General! Your board looks phenomenal! I was wondering where i can find your see through flight stands?
The information is in this thread;

Congratulations! His work was sensational. What is the size of the magnet (diameter and thickness)? What place did you buy? Big hug!

A drill press would have made the job much easier for sure.
love the vid GHG. I have a question for you. Whats your thoughts on the anniversary edition? Is it worth getting for the new sculpts?

Yes!!!! Mine are on order! Great video, GHG!
Thanks Joe. You're going to love them.

I'm happy I could make this video for you, Bro. Thank you for making these for the A&A community.

They look great brother! Awesome work, great idea!
when Japan captures calcuta can Japan spend 20 to upgrade to major factory on next turn
No. You can only put a major factory on your originally controlled territory. Japan could only have one on Either Korea or Japan. That's it.
What kind of glue are you using?
The glue is called E6000. I don't know how it stacks up against other glue products except the Testers model glue which didn't work very well.
