Alot I want to say, but know I'm limited. First I really miss this show. EMHE was one of the most uplifting shows on TV and never should have been taken off. Second, I am from Nashville. I moved over 20 years ago and really miss it. When the flood hit my heart broke, I actually lost a couple friends during it. This made me home sick and to all in Nashville, please no matter what always be the Big City, small town attitude I know, and Keep it one of the jewels of the south! Love all of ya!
Agreed. Too bad they didn't put any thought into the upkeep of the homes they gifted. Almost no one could afford the taxes on these places and ended up on the streets afterwards.
28:10 The family’s reaction to Carrie Underwood standing right in front of them was AMAZING! I would SO do what the little boy did run to her and hug her and NEVER let go! 😍
My heart is breaking, watching these amazing people from EMHE work their magic to come rescue others, to lift their spirits, to bring their hearts & hands to bring Lighthouse a new, better life! I’m crying
I miss this show, and I am looking for this for a long time ago. I was able to watch this on Lifestyle Network TV when I was in high school way back 2007 and 2008. From old and rotten to renovated houses. This time, I am so impressed on the renovation of a flooded primary school. I still remember back then when I was a former educator in my home country, giving our learners a bright future. It may seem challenging, but never giving up on achieving their dreams. :)
For those of you wondering, in the south where winter temps don't get so low that you wouldn't want your children walking around outside schools will often have their preschools and kindergartens in trailers or cheaper made structures further from the building so they can be as loud and rambunctious as they want without disturbing anyone else. Its basically their own mini school away from the main school. Personally i remember being a clutz, i remember all my schools having cinderblock walls and fake tile floors so i appreciate the fact that kindergarten had semi-flexable wooden walls and soft carpeting over plywood floors. Made being a clutz less painful.
lol you can definitely be loud, rambunctious, and also be totally fine if you're a klutz in a building made of cinder blocks... You just need the right floors and wall treatments. It's a shame to believe little kids don't deserve to be in great buildings and are only trailer worthy...
This video is worth a trillion thumbs up as well as all the love in America 🇺🇲💯❤️💪😇🙏🙌👊✌️👌👍 Thank you Extreme make over for all you do in helping rebuild live around our beautiful country 🙏😇🙌😎👍💯
Just seeing the principal alone giving all those kids high five brought tears to my eyes !!! It's a wonderful sight to see someone of authority giving them a sense of love ❤️ !
The best part was reaction of teachers n the kids were so happy to c their school ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤what a perfect moment god bless those teachers n kids love from india
I went to the Grand Ole Opry and had an amazing tour. It’s only like 40 bucks so I recommend it to everyone. I can’t wait to go again! The video they show you before the tour is so good too. They give you the knowledge about what the flood did to the place and you can still see the water line on some of the walls. I’m 6 ft talk and it was waistline to me. Just crazy how that can happen.
Here in France wood like this along with old doors and furniture is turned into pellets for central heating, even sawdust is made into this. Many home here are installing pellet burning boilers so they have to be kept fed. @@BuckyBarnesNC
Yes. It is worse in 2023, because teachers are quitting. That puts 40 students to a one (1) teacher classroom. The student teachers are not paid. Substitute teachers are underpaid. Yes. Our kids are shortchanged.
Yes because there’s not enough teachers nowadays. Many people wanted to be teachers back in the day, now not so much. I’m a OIF Paratrooper Army military vet and they have a program for us to become teachers. Not trying to say this in a bad way but we aren’t the best teachers for “kids” maybe high up teenagers but not small children lol. We would cuss and tell war stories haha. Point being, that’s how bad teachers are needed because they will pay for our (Army Vets/Grunts 😂) college so we can teach. Also, you’re not old if you know how to do this RUclips thing haha. 😊 Be well.
Our daughter's house in Nashville was a brick house. It got flooded up past the windows and electric socks. To repair it they would have to tear everything out & treat for mold. It was better to tear it down and build a new house with the living space on a second story. True, brick houses don't float away, but in a flood they are ruined nearly beyond repair.
This is not to say anything bad about Carrie Underwood sense Carrie Underwood is A very talented and beautiful singer, It's just her last name is distracting with my step-dad's maiden name and that is "Underwood" So I'll usually be asked or he'll be asked every now and then "Are You/ Is Your Step-Dad Realated To Carrie Underwood??" So me and my Step-dad will usually tell them "If I/He Was We're Still Waiting On Some Money She Owe's Us From Her Concerts 🎸".
And I was interested in that show at first I watched it a lot how many people actually were on here that have got houses or whatever and still have their houses why don't you show the ones that lost them houses it's all a bunch of b******* they should have been able to keep their houses we need to know why they don't have their houses no more after being on the show how the show messed it up to where they lost their houses or why they lost their own homes
9 Families had to give up their homes because they fell on hard times during the Recession. That only accounts for 5% of the show's recipients During the Recession Habitat for Humanity saw over 3,000 partner families nationwide lose their homes under the exact same circumstances. A single chapter in Florida saw over 70 foreclosures between 2007 and 2013.
Let me guess, you built back in the same spot? Which is flood prone...great. No wonder insurance is so high, gotta pay for the the ignorance, but nostalgia is oh so much more important.
Did you watch the video? The Middle/High School wasn't affected by the flood because it was up on a hill and after 12 minutes they mentioned that the pre-school will move to another place to prevent damage from another flood. I really don't understand why people are so bitter in their comments. :(

I lived in Hickman County at the time and it was definitely a bad thing. Even our County was hit hard.

I’ve watched many of these shows and honestly believe this was best ever!
Leanne and Keith are now the Voice coaches! 😊

the dad pointing at her was rude, though

You can see how much they love their students. We need more people like them in 5his world.
This show is needed so badly right now.
So much gratitude that it was a Saturday, no children inside that school house!🙏😳

Awesome just ✈️ plane AWESOME!!!!!
Wow...Carrie UnderWood😊😊 Jesus Takes the Wheel.
Wait! This isn’t the same school that was affected by the recent school shooting several months back, was it?
They obviously meant SWEPT away.
Right
Wat do u mean? That's exactly wat it says!
@@jaynengerengere3494 4 days ago Bennykwai asked why it said slept away. I see it's been corrected now.
Obviously! 🤦♀️. Pretty sure anyone with half a brain figured that out right away! 🤦♀️
I remember that. It was a nightmare
👏👏👏
Wow
Leigh Ann and I are both Memphis born and raised but I don’t have an accent
I miss this show
Given the cost of wood I can't believe how much they chuck away that can be re-used or even donated to someone who can't afford it.
It was warped and unusable, or they would have
Many people don’t understand It was warped, or they couldn’t use it again sadly. Or they would have.
This idea sounds more helpful than it actually is.

it's so funny to see people mad over a simple misspelled word😂😂
I know I’m an old lady, but is there really over 30 preschoolers in each of those 4 classrooms? 😳😳😱
Yes.

Epic pep rally never forget
And she didn’t think water can do this wow water is one of the strongest forces on earth
So just wondering…….do people not have insurance to cover all this loss and damage to their homes?
If you're not in a designated flood zone, flood insurance is usually optional and not a requirement.
Not everyone can afford the insurance, especially if it’s claimed to be a floodplain
Most insurance I've seen have a blanket "we don't pay for acts of god" disclaimer
everything is build in wood , and that floats, use bricks and cement and it will keep standing
Our daughter's house in Nashville was a brick house. It got flooded up past the windows and electric socks. To repair it they would have to tear everything out & treat for mold. It was better to tear it down and build a new house with the living space on a second story. True, brick houses don't float away, but in a flood they are ruined nearly beyond repair.
i think they knew these people were coming

And some people just have a crappy attitude
Would they maybe have cameras at a pep rally?

SERIOUSLY? 🤦♀️🤦♀️. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to read the statement and know it’s a typo for “swept”….🤦♀️🤦♀️
