Hello, I'll be homest with you: the first transition was a train wreck the second one was starting weird , then it was matching , nearly got it ,but went into a wreck... the third transition: ooookaaay, now we getting there! That was great! The fourth one was give or take matching beat, but it wasn't in frase.. Deeper in you have some fantastic mixes too. Your track list is very good. You have great gear You just need to focus more on beat matching and now your tracks a bit better. You are very close. I just got into miximg this type of music on vinyl. It is very hard, too much going on in the songs.. Sometimes even if is in beat, in frase, still sound shit because of the synt tones not mix well. It can be so frustrating... You need to practice which song mix well with another. That is what I do. Still, I make disaster mixes many times when it comes to eurodance. To make it easier, and be able to focus on the mix more, I measured the bpm of every record and wrote it on the label. (No bpm display on my mixer.) Speeds up beat matching and have more time to figure out the proper place to bring the next song in. Ps, : this and disco (hand drummed) are the hardest. I wish you strenght and enthusiasm to continue and master it ! When done right, this eurodance mixes can be so uplifting!
When Mr.Vain was getting to the end, I was praying, plz make this a good mix, and the cut at 57:31 was so freaking good, and at 59:36 it was a very good mix! Well corrected, well executed: Well done!
Really appreciate the feedback, yes I love Euro and 90s rave but do find them the most challenging to mix, as you said… there is too much going on most of the time (no “empty” parts of the track to mix with) and if I really wanted to sound perfect I’d have to know what key each individual tracks are in to make it sound better. This was not meant to be a perfect mix by any means, I mix hard trance and hardstyle mostly but still love the 90s stuff to play for fun.. it’s a very different mixing style indeed! Very constructive feedback though thanks, and apologies for the train wrecks 😅 I was mostly happy with the mix overall though
@@kevo-dj723 Hello! Come on !!! Don't apoligize for the not perfect mixes! I knew it was improvised , not "staged". Some people spend days to prepare it , practice it, just for the video (even edit the video) , some takes advatage of auto-sync...just to make it look perfect. If you wake up in a dj booth ,finding yourself infront of a big crowd, you could do the same thing, they couldn't. Your set was very natural, its not a problem when sometimes not matching perfectly, it need to be human. The two main thing is , when it gets wrong, you are aware of it and you try to correct it and you know how, sometimes just no room left (its not progressive house) , second, the good parts make the whole thing a good set, overall. It's so easy to criticize from behind the scream. Wasn't perfect but, as from the person perspective who mix this style (maybe not the mainstream, but still), I can only say that mixing Euro isn't easy. I would even say, it's fu*king hard, especially with records. Let the man enjoy what he does and don't point out mistakes. Nobody's perfect. Even the best DJs make mistakes. Peace.
