It seems like his level up mechanic is meant to stop people from regularly switching between roles to flex to whatever is best for that fight. He seems to start as a below average (insert role here) but gets stronger as he levels. If he swaps he'll lose all his upgrades as they're all marked as role specific.

Won't happen. It need a solid ground to plant and Wanda rarelly coming close to a gound. See how Ironman is conveniently next to a ledge when he's ulting. At best you can plant it on corners where Wanda might pop out of as she charges, but realisitcally you would probably use it as Hulk bubble, by placing it on top of your team to survive.
@doremiancleff1508 You dash to your teammates that are caught in the open and put the bubble down on yourself/them, or just between you/teammates and Scarlet to block the ult damage.

That would be an insanely scary Deadpool player if they can flex all three roles.
Not to mention that depending on the role, you'd have to play Deadpool a little differently, so the enemy team will have to take time and observe for a moment to check what role he's playing.
Is he at the front? Vanguard.
Is he at the back, swinging at his teammates? Strategist.
Is he strafing around looking for good angles to engage? Duelist.

The Dev team honestly deserves an award for these character designs.
First with spiderman and daredevil, and implementing them into an arena shooter.
But now they just straight up added RPG elements with upgrades and skill trees TO THEIR MULTIPLAYER and it looks smooth AF😭.

I feel like Rivals is Heroes of the Storm of hero shooters. It has the balls to do wild hero designs.
Some designs are pretty mid IMO but I agree a lot of them are good. Ultron for example should've got this upgrade mechanic not Deadpool. Deadpool having the ability to change roles is already a really cool gimmick on its own and the character is already huge in popularity this just makes me fear we will see him in literally every single game now especially if he's unbannable.
@f91-f97 They probably gave him the upgrade system so flexing to a different role has some friction to it, flexing to a new role means you lose out on the upgrades you got on the role you were playing before. This way he's allowed to be a good DPS/tank/healer if he specializes, they would have had to neuter all three of them to compensate for the flexibility if he was always at full power
Not the first game of this genre to have done this, but still. (also RIP Battleborn)
It looks like next to Deadpool's name. You can see what clashes are allowed to be in the game. So for this one it looks like the healer was banned so he could either be the tank or duelist

I think what rivals wants to do is they're going to start to make characters where you can't fully ban them so that people have the option to open up and make these flex decisions

He's deflecting bullets in his Vanguard ult. That's part of what we've seen in movies. That Moon Knight skin probably fits the same theme as the new Torch skin. He's the Jack of Clubs in the Hellfire theme skins.
That's not Moon Knight. It's clearly Gambit. I mean, it's not like he has Moon Knight's pose or anything. According to Flats, card suits=Gambit.

Flats really should watch/react to a seasons lore summary video because that Moon Knight skin was already revealed for a while, explicitly as a Moon Knight skin.
So his passive is healing area, his dodge ability is a selfie, his skillshot is throwing the icon and the ultimate is the upgrade system until you unlock the real ultimate that also has a mission that unlocks the extra bonus power for 5-8 secs
there's a separate red bar under his health for the level up mechanic, you can use his Ult from the get go.

At the start of the Vangaurd clip I believe tankpool used his shield bubble to encase the ulting Ironman. The explosion was just Ironman ult exploding in the bubble.

i always feel like the abilties in hero shooters could use more flair and flash, it makes things fun and exciting. deadpool has all of that. idk about the level up system though, just the ui of it. having to bring up a menu in the middle of a game feels like it would disrupt the fast paced flow of the game.

So the ultimate is a little tricky. If anyone has played Samira in League of Legends, it's gonna be the same. You gotta use unique abilities (meaning you can't use the same twice in a row, you gotta use a different one each time) and actually hit enemies in order to gain ult charge. The ultimate has tiers from E to S. As you gain ult charge, once you reach max ult charge you progress to the next tier. Once you get to S tier, you can use your ultimate. As he said, he gains ult charge according to how fancy you play.
During your ultimate you gotta use abilites again (or maybe others too, not sure yet). Above the ultimate you see 0/5 for example and icons above that. Those are the icons for the abilities you have to use to reach 5/5 and once you reach it, you get a buff on your ult.
Now, what his ult does exactly i don't know. But i'm certain this is how it works.
During the ult, the 0/5 seems to be the amount of times you need to flip. The flip seems to happen when you double jump and then right click, it causes you to do the rapid, flipping, slash
Deadpool’s screen blocking ability is really similar to a special in splatoon masked splatter color screen. It’s much much better designed here bc the screen doesn’t flash colors, causing some people to have health sensitivity. I love the distance implementation
