Thank you thank you thank you. I've been hearing so much hate and lack of compassion..I was so disheartened. I really needed to hear this. It speaks to everyone.
The holy spirit lead me to this previous sermon over 7 years ago but it is still truth for the times in which we live today! AMEN Rev. Dr. William Barber AMEN!
So inspiring to hear this man's words. If he represented today's brand of Conservative Christian, I would be happy to claim it, too. Unfortunately, that term as been coopted by something that I no longer recognize. North Carolina, you have treasure in Reverend William Barber!
@@greglogan7706 agree. I think to unite those who fall into that ultra conservative trap he talks about, labeling it as democratic socialist, even if it's truth, won't work in uniting those folks.
@@jamesdb7115 Well, sadly this poor fellow I am responding to doesn't understand either democratic or socialist...😖. More important - he doesn't understand where his own head has been trapped into a partisanship and false witness that God condemns and hates...
Thank you so much for inspiring me and thank our Lord and savior. I, too, am fed up with the message of love being held hostage by interests that would rather see our poor and sick die in the streets.
We need this conversation in America in 2020 to counter the voices of oppression, injustice, greed and indifference flowing from those who profess to follow Jesus yet bow down to the antichrist in the White House. "Hold on to love, and hold on to justice, and hold on to righteousness, and hold on to treating people right, and hold on to lifting up the poor." Amen, brother Barber!
I'm sharing this! This has truly helped to renew my hope as a believer and as a fellow human being. It has truly helped to refresh my faith in the Creator. This is one of he best messages of hope I have heard in a very long time. This is beyond awesome!
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John1:14
These messages are universal- he opens with that passage that says “Be heard, regardless of the reception of your message. Regardless of the outcome, stand and be counted.” That’s a powerful message because it speaks to calling and it speaks to identity and it speaks to purpose. The forgotten and the unobserved have a voice and wealth is not the indicator or value. The way one uses their voice for justice and compassion is the true marker of value in life.
This is oration at its best. The message is clear, the conviction is strong and love it at the core. I watch this and I see a man who loves his fellow man.
God has the answers, I just pray that people will read His Word for themselves, get to know Him and his Holy Spirit and live his truths. He brings joy, peace and love...not anger, hate and division. Only light will overcome darkness.
Great video. Glad to see the complete presentation, of which I caught only the last 15 minutes in my video. Also, the video is a truly professional job.
One sign of Jesus’ Spirit is He convicts the world of sin (John 16:8). The sign of the spirit of this age is that the world is coddled instead of convicted. When the counter-cultural message of Jesus is softened or tweaked, or the raging idols of this age are overlooked or ignored, the cost of Christianity disappears. Christianity without a cost is Christianity without the cross. And Christianity without the cross isn’t Christianity at all. God's Love must be illuminated by His Truth.
Am not necessarily subscribing to Christianity as it is today from a European perspective. Instead, am subscribing to his christianity from an Afrocentric narrative. Therefore, I can listen to this brother's message.
Jesus did not fight injustice. He suffered and died at the hands of those that were unjust. Jesus did not die for everyone. He died for His people. Matthew 1:21

Should someone decide to make a film about the Rev, then Mike Epps should portray the role. Resemblance is striking

Follow Jesus’ way. Jesus didn’t create Christianity nor write the Bible.
I belive the reason you can listen to this sermon is because Jesus is talking to you through REV. Barber Just like many but not all I love this guy
Dr. Barber your word of God is like 🔥, we go forth in bitterness of spirit.
