00:30 Idling at 7500 rpm, huh? LOL. I'm impressed it has the correct stripes on the side mirrors. Most aftermarket stripe kits have silver between the red and black stripes, but it was originally clear, so the silver paint shows through on most of the car, but since the side mirrors are gray, they correctly show gray between the red and black stripes and not silver.
I agree brother, the internet and the ones running it, Tel Aviv. I had a 77 Smokey and Bandit ltd edition. It was fast straight, sucked on curves, would get hot on hot days. They fixed that
They only made 5000 of these and 1800 came with the 400 with the four speed that identical car would be selling for about $80,000 if it was the 400 under the hood. I paid five grand for mine back in 1991 with 30,000 miles under the hood. Nobody wanted those cars back that. Everyone wanted the iRock z
Much faster. Those pontiac 400's, W72's, were rated at 220hp, its more like 265hp, compared to 185 hp from the olds 403. My Late father had that same exact car, I also had a blk 79 with gold velour. Both with the Olds 403. They did have enough power to brake the tires from a dead idle, but were definitely geared for highway cruising. I can remember doing 70 and only doing 1800rpm's. Then when I floored it, I would be going 100 in no time. On that note, they didnt have much top end over 100, maybe 110, 120 tops. I loved the mirrored t-tops, the red dash lites, and the power antenna which was new for that year.
The TATA equipped with the small block 403 can’t be considered a muscle car. Hot Rod Mag dynoed a properly equipped W72 Package ‘79 Trans Am at 260 hp compared with what these used car salesmen were peddling at the time, a mandatory automatic Olds mill with a “massive” 185 horses. Give me a break.
No. They came either with the 403 Olds V8 (like this one) with the THM350 or the Pontiac 400 with the four speed manual Borg Warner Super T-10. There were 7500 total 10th Anniversary cars. 1,817 of them had Pontiac 400 engines in them. The 403 was only automatic and the 400 was only manual. I have one of the 1,817 manual 10th Anniversary cars.
I had the opportunity to buy Emanuel back in 1995 when I was in college the guy was selling it for $6000 and it had 30,000 original miles on it mint condition and I turned it down. I could put my daughter halfway through college with that now. 😳
A little less, around $10,500-$11,000, but yes, dealers were charging MSRP and getting a premium on top of that, much like today's market. The original owner of my car paid $13,260.96 (also a 400/4 speed) in late 1979 and also paid the salesman $500 in cash to find him a 400/4 speed.

Damn my favorite Trans Am !! I really need that 10th Anniversary T/A

Back in high school in the early 80s one of my friends has one and he scared the poo out of me every weekend!! 😂
Very nice TATA. I have a nice one I lucked up on. But this one may be a little nicer.

SWEET My High School grad 79
Nice
Clean ride. I'd swap those wheels out for some silver honeycomb wheels.
No it needs to be left as it came from the factory for it to retain its future value
Pretty easy to swap back wheels and I never cared for them or the 10th Anniversary scheme for that matter either.
I'd pay $48,000, but only if it actually had the Pontiac 400 4 speed

78,000 miles! 😮😮 for 47k??
Believe it or not that sounds just about right if it was a 1971 or a 1972 it would be north of 120,000
Idling at 7500 RPM???? Redlined? I know you probably meant 750 RPM. Nice car.
I realize it’s all original but a set of headers and magflow mufflers would make it a lot better
idling at 7500 rpm?
i had one, power antenna quit working right after i got it
Awesome car, still like the 400 better😊

Should be about $35k
Problem is when cars had that many miles on them back in the day...They were worn out............Not like todays cars..
Price is in the vid under the car year make and model….
Price $
Min 2:44, $47,995!
Idle at 7500 rpm ? Wow
If I had the $$$
Thought these were 400 and came in manual only?

@@chrisk920 I bought my 10th (a 400) in 1999.
How much?
Sold! For $48,000!!!!! with a whopping 185 hp. How do you get so little horsepower for a 403 big block?
Olds 403 Eng..
Ya got to remember though this model window sticker was around $13,500 new..just sayin'

Don't want any T-Top, more body flex, leaks and squeaks and that hot sun constantly beating on your head, no thanks. 🤐
$43,995 is $15,000 too much for this T/A.
i g 🥰t the same ' same c😇L😇r in 1/43 ☺️🤗
cars like these are "garage queens" ... you need a second car to go to walmart !!
There’s nothing queen is about it. It only had 185 hp. I owned one it was a complete dog.
