My video review of Transform Element TE-01 OP Leader, which is a 3rd party Transformers masterpiece G1 cartoon Optimus Prime. This figure and Magic Square MS-01 Light of Freedom have been very popular releases and alternatives to the much more expensive Takara Masterpiece Transformers MP-44 Convoy v3 (Optimus Prime). I like this figure a lot; better than Magic Square, as it offers a fantastic G1 toon likeness and superior truck alt mode.

Magic Square's alt mode looks like it wants to be a pickup truck.
Thanks for the review. I just picked this up on eBay. Although I will keep him in Bot Mode, TE-01 has the best Truck/Cab mode. With Magic Square and MP-10 you see his pelvis in Truck mode which ruins the illusion of being a truck while Transform Element nailed it.
just revisiting op leader. best mp prime ever made and still unmatched in terms of accuracy, built and engineering.
Nice presentation, Dan14thPrime, except that you put the trailer accessory backwards; that is why the gap between the front of the trailer and the back of the cab is so wide.
Anyway, I like this figure very much. I have the fourth version release, and it has blurred windows, which prevent seeing any robot parts behind them, and the face of the original head sculpt has been re-coloured to same shade of grey that the other head has. You said in this video that you think this figure is the best on the market. I think that it still is.
This is a perfect rendition of the G1 Animated look. It clearly beats the Magic Square and MP-44 in that department. Really nothing bad with this version in any way. It's kind of perfect to be honest. Robot mode is beautiful and clean, and truck mode is so clean it's hard to tell it can even transform. I'm getting this MOFO ASAP.
Maybe you have the trailer hitch piece the wrong way around🤔 awesome review as always and I'll definitely be picking this up
Thanks Liam. I just checked based on your comment, but nope, the trailer hitch only fits in one direction.
Dan14thPrime if you check out the 5th wheel placement in Paik’s review it does sit the correct way. Mine is arriving Monday. I can’t wait!

I was coming down to the comment to say the same thing! Everybody puts the fifth wheel on backwards and thinks "that's a hell of a gap"!

Awesome, I went for the magic square one instead but the more I see of this guy the more like it! The transformation looked a bit too complicated the first few times I saw it but after having seen it a couple times Im pretty sure its less of a big deal than I thought. I was kinda fearful about takaras sunstreaker for the same reason but that turned out to be one of my favorites.
I really cant bring myself to get another mastepiece prime though especially when theyre so similar :p if I had more money and space then I do now I would totally get te's prime as well though.
Rohan Clancy when closed you mean? Just pop a piece of paper behind the both windows, that solved it for me. I did some extra effort and got a piece of paper with a gradient going from blue to purple and it looks great behind the blue windows.
I bought both and sold off my magic square. TE is so much better esp with the new head sculpt.

I agree a proper cover wouldve been better! But I can also immagine other people maybe do like the shiny diecast stuff behind the window...
ApenBaard I think you should give it a try after the new release has come out for te-01 op leader, with even more upgrades like more opaque windows
I love it even tho i am used more of the grey strips in vehicle mode this sadly is the official new version of G1 optimus prime (aka V3 current version) but i love it even tho i already said my issue than again impressive
I had bought the Magic Square first but it wasn't toon enough for me so I decided to buy this one and I have to say I like it much more than Magic Square. You have to see both figures in person to really see how nice the TE version is. TE has better toon proportions and some real nice heft to him. Both are nice but I kept the TE version.

I have this one on preorder because I really don't have the kind of money for the new. I think they nailed the cartoon look pretty well. Love your review on this.
i just got mine in today . i agree i got i guess there 2.0 version with the upgraded head sculpt. i see you did too. i swapped out the head as i never liked the original version face it looked off too me. i rather have toon accuracy then just a figure that looks like optimus prime

Hay man grat review this figure is out standing i do own both figure and i agree TE-01 is the better figure when it comes to toon accuracy but the MS virgin has all the articulation... as for the trailer hitch if you turn it around I think you can get it closer to the cab other than that great review
