It is not a fair comparison...it is like comparing Natalie's Queen of the Night to Diana's. Natalie is a native French speaker as Diana is a German one. A native speaker will always have something more to give to an aria sung in his/her mother tongue.

@ClaraMP // 羊 Subliminals Well for one I know that she doesn't really have the technique for this. She sounds breathy and her high notes are screechy. Try listening to others like Joan Sutherland, Callas, Ingeborg Hallstein or maybe Sabine Deviellhe. You can see the differences.

@ClaraMP // 羊 Subliminals A dramatic coloratura soprano is no excuse for her to sing like this. Joan Sutherland is a dramatic coloratura and she doesn't sound like this ok ? If all dramatic coloartura soprano have screechy high notes, what do you classify Edda Moser or Cristina Deutekom. They all are dramatic coloratura without screechy high notes. In the end it all comes down to technique. She used to be good back in the day, but she detiorated a lot with age. Sad to hear it.

@ClaraMP // 羊 Subliminals Have you heard her Violetta in Met? It was just painful listening to her voice being just shadow of itself. She uses really unhealthy, so called 'German' , technique. Her high notes are just aspirated screams, usually out of tune. In early years she was stunning, but now she should retire to avoid such a criticism she unfortunately deserves.
