In this video I present you on how to make a modern vehicle tail light similar to Audi A8 with Arduino Nano. Park light (DRL), brake light, reverse light, dynamic/ sequential turn lights and hazard light is included in this system. You can adjust the length of the light based on your requirement and the full guide is included in this video. Then all you have to do is, give 12V power to the light system and connect brake, reverse and blinker signals with the new tail light. Hi i love this setup and i have followed what you have done. I am wondering if you could change a bit of the coding to allow for the reverse lights to work along with the dim and brake. So the reverse lights would only be the same amount of LED'S as the indicators. Outside 15 LED'S reverse. middle LED'S dim and brake, Outside LED'S other end reverse. I hope that makes sense

I've seen some speak of a delay before the signal outputs to the light. Do you think that a relay might help the situation, or possibly it could make it worse? It's just that you're taking the turn signal wires and brake wire and increasing their loads, and I know in the car audio world when we increase the load on the accessory wire that it's good practice to run it through a relay, so I'm thinking maybe the same could be true for the signal wires for lighting.

Hey thanks. Go to blinker function sections down below in the code. Then turn on the required section in orange, put a delay, turn off the section and again put a delay.

Change the code only if you want to change the number of LEDs. Otherwise upload the code as it is.

Have you installed it on a car? does the break with turn signal work the same way when it is connected to the actual turn signal of a car?
Yes. There is a slight delay but it works as shown in the video. Make sure you adjust the turn signal timing as shown in the video.
Hi. follow the steps in your video. I made connections to arduino nanoma. When I power up it turns white. Then, when I give +12 v input, unfortunately the inputs of the arduino nano no longer work. I think it burned.
If you did the wiring exactly as I mentioned, it should work just fine. More than 500 people already made this.

It is 100% due to the power supply. Try using a high quality mobile phone USB charger and get the 5V out from it for the system.

Yes can be done. I’ll keep it in my mind for the next version.

Hello. i've made the connections, but it's not working. I made a 12 to 5 v converter. I connected it to a 5 volt arduino, connected the gnd pin with resistors. then I connected the 12 v+ pole to the 22k resistor, but only the white light is on. soory google translate. and I made num leds 30. I made BlinkerLEDs 10.
That is very strange. If you did the wiring correct and upload the code as I mentioned, it should work. There are hundreds of members tried this and worked.

You can add switches to any of the signal wires. So that you on/off the 12v signals.

Is the LED strip you used 12v? I have 12v led, how can I power 12v led when Arduino is 5v max?
If you take a look at the wiring diagram in the video, you can see I have used a voltage regulator.

Hi help please, i have connected this to my car but it is 14v when the engine is on - what should i do its causing problem with the LEDS everything was ok when i connected it using 12v but it changed once i connected it to the car thank you in advance
For power in you should use a very good 5V power regulator. For the signal lines, you can increase the 22K resistors to ~25K.

You have to have a 12V to 5V voltage converter which can output around 2-3A

The Hazard lights don't work when reverse light is on.. You can't backup with hazards on

Why is there such a delay when you end any of the inputs? Like when you release the brake input the brake lights stay on for like 3 or 4 seconds.
There is a slight 1-2sec delay when the brake is hit while the signal indicators are running. Other than that there is 0 delay. In the video most of the time I hold the brake to demonstrate.
@@HAZITECH Thanks for your reply. I changed nothing in your code except for number of LED's. No matter what input I end there is a 4 second delay before whatever input you trigger turns off. So upon power up the tail light portion is on. If I input for the brake light it turns on immediately. When I end the brake input the brake light doesn't turn off for 4 seconds. The same thing happens if I input for the reverse light and either of the turn signals.
Wow that’s very strange. Try giving 5V to the 10 K and 22K resistor joint to trigger the lights for each channel to see the effect is same. You can get the 5V out from the Arduino board.
@@HAZITECH I am using the 5v out from the arduino board. I'm not using the voltage divider since I am bench testing.
But you should use 10K resistor. Ooh that maybe the reason. Forget 22K but connect 10K as in the diagram. And then give 5V to 10K (arduino data in connection side). It should work fine. Let me know after testing.

Please double check the wiring and the LED data in direction.
@@HAZITECH I have, 3 questions I only have 1 led turning on what does it mean and do have to connect all connections to work and do they go on negative line or positive line are do I have to make 2 wires for turn signal and break
You have to connect all the resistors based on the wiring diagram to make it work. For bench testing, just give +12V to signal wires one after the other and see what happens.

Hi Great project how easy would it be to run the power on animation twice in the code.
You can simply copy the code in the setup and male a separate pattern function and call it in the loop

You mean 24V right?. If you use a 24V to 5V DC step down converter for power in and change all 22K resistors to 50K, you are good to go.

It says 12v to 5v. But how many amp?
It depends on the number of LEDs you use. In general, 1.5-2A is enough for 100 LEDs.
@@HAZITECH my fear is that my step down from 12vto5v says 3amp. Will that burn my LEDs if I only have 30 or 40?
Not at all. As long as you give 5V, higher amp rating won’t hurt. It is actually better. LEDs will draw only the required current from the power source.
