They messed up the joke with the last woman. He kept on telling her, “ I can’t hear you.. all I am getting is “over” “. So that made her divert her attention away from the TV set to the (phone) receiver. Then she missed the ball coming out of the TV and basically the whole joke (instead thinking that the TV had blown).
She actually trained wireless operator . She strongly accenting each word, do not use long sentences and calling over at the end. Probably woman auxiliary service in ww2.
You could tell she was uncomfortable with what was happening but she was a good sport to let the Candid team let her be featured on the programme (sorry for the long delay in replying to your comment)
People were so naive back then. For someone who does tv pranks for a profession, this guy always seems to be stumped for words and doesn't quite know how to lead these people through the entire prank, he knows the start and the general direction it's going, but he stumbles and fumbles way too much when the actual prank event happens, and just doesn't guide people back on track right at the crucial moment.
People were so naive then ... I love the 70s fashions too. I wonder if the victims were paid a fee and gave their consent for their stunt to be used in the programme...
Today's people would fall for this so easily.so impressionable they are today!Amen.
Congratulations, house is beautiful can't wait for the follow up videos.

I would be like what the earth just happened there when the snooker ball flies out the TV. I think I would get a fright.
