These are the best dfam tutorials i came across so far (and i’ve watched quite a few since i laid my hands on a dfam!) thank you. Hope there’ll be more :)
Sooooooo close to pulling the trigger on one of these. Sounds great & look fun. Was a strong prospect when it first appeared. I keep coming back to it. It's time! :D
I just noticed how you took advantage of the 2-tier system to install modules on the bottom half, was that once a subharmonicon?, this gives me inspiration to find some modules for my 3-tier, thanks.
No wonder I like the DFAM so much. I've had Tweaky Beats for years. It's by far my favorite drum machine app. One sound per step is surprisingly powerful and more interesting than 90% of drum machines out there- Analog, digital synth or sample-based. Funk Box is also a very cool app. It's like a dozen classic drum machines emulated pretty well.
My VCA decay knob seems to add so much more decay than yours. When I copy your patch onto my DFAM it sounds completely different. Any idea why that may be happening? I know there will be minor differences between units, but it's insane how much more decay my knob has!
Waiting on mine, this helps me deal for the time being. Real nice sounds. However, maybe try not to talk over the sounds too often? Let them play on their own for a while.
Seems a lot of bleeps and squeaks are casual. I wish it would produce percussion timbres and such like a timpani crossed with a snare. I would buy it but this doesn’t appear to be a percussion synth more of a monotribe on steroids.
I love the sound of this thing but the fact that you can't randomize the steps of the sequencer is kind of a deal breaker. An 8 step sequence is way too boring
Hence enter the BASIMILUS ITERITAS, how much mor€ did you want to $pend? Did you take the ‘£ifeTerm Membership’ offer? Fear not linear friend, there’s plenty of randomization opportunities coming your way sooner than you want;) Think: Quantization... yes there will be soon if not already.
DFMA has no reset sequencer function, it is so annoying, i will probably sell the one i have because of that, it slows the creative process to the point i have lost my interest in this thing. what were they thinking ??? the people want to manually adjust the bloody steps each time after you stop the sequencer ??? It's fine to just play around with it on its own, but if u ona use it with other gear and sync it to daw, forget it, it's slowing the proces way to much for what it gives in return.
Interesting concept but feels like a one trick pony... I've never seen anyone transposing the sequence to a different key in realtime so I'm guessing this cannot be done. This makes adding it to music that uses scale progressions is difficult, unless your music is simply flat unchanging music-less bleeps and bloops in the same key. An 8 step sequencer. Who thought this would be a good idea in the design stage?
I like the sound of a piano. However a piano won't do weird sounds that don't sound like a piano. My point being that this perhaps isn't the instrument for you? Just because it doesn't do the thing you think it should, doesn't mean it's a one trick pony that can't make all manner of sounds that someone else would find useful.
This is an amazing intro into the DFAM and semi-modular synthesis. It's also very inspiring. Thank you!
THIS GUY IS REALLY GOOD! THE BEST I'VE SEEN ON THE DFAM! CLEAR AND PRECISE!
man every level of this patch made me have a LOTS of fun with my DFAM, thank you so much

Excellent video. Really clear and succinct walkthrough and examples.
I got mine a week ago, & it's a unique machine, it can do more than just drum sounds.
The DFAM is a new thing every day.
Brilliant! This is the best explanation of the DFAM I’ve come across.
Yep, one of the better dfam demonstrations.
Lovely, hoping for a few more parts to this series. Great work!
Cool video Mike. I didn't really understand how to do the advance/clock control until your video. Thanks for that.
Creative Sound Lab love your creative recording vids! Hope to see some with Electronic gear too.

Bought! Fucking excellent.
Woof woof!
really nice mike hopefully you can do some examples of randomizing the sequencer or polyrhythmic beats in pt 3
Those sounds around 1:20 ... Can't wait to try out this thing !
This is incredibly helpful. Thank you!
Dude, this is awesome! Thanks! Infact, I'm off to buy one right now!🙏👍❤️
Great video man

Good ideas!
Really great demo, thanks!
Very good video!
awesome video
Very Good, Information Appreciated
love your work, great way of explaining!

i´d like to see the patchsheet for that example (starting around 1:50) mine sounds quite different, if i use the video as reference.
One of the best video, not because of crispy sound, but way like you talk.Thumb up.And you like dub :)
Thanks for the kind words - glad you enjoyed it!
aah thats more of what i want from this...
Awesome!
great video, very informative .
Nice tutorial, I was wondering how would you tune this to fit a song?
Once 6:30 hit, I was sold instantly.
The DFAm sounds like an analog version of the Tweaky Beats App. :)

@@vprice509 Yupp, I used them both a loooot. So, the DFAm is a bit like TB sonically, but with knobs. :)
thank you for this :)
sooo helpful
excellent follow up! unboxing mine now!!!! cheers : ) o7🐛
Tell us about the other mods you are using ... that would be great...
Thank you for a good walkthrough of this sexy piece of kit 🤤
GREAT

All very nice & dandy (big time on the dfam), but, still, you guys could have sold me the HCTT demo on display.....
Any better videos showing better tighter kicks? What to see how hard it hits
The first demo where it sounds kinda interesting
Maybe a dumb question, but can the DFAM create sequences with fewer than 8 steps?
What is the housing model?
Jesus Christ, its indecent... way too many great synth and i have soo few.
❤️💣
Minilogue xd has one cv in and one cv out. Could dfam to be slaved to it?
That is my question
Yep. Search for ‘Minilogue XD CV’ for some examples on YiuTube.
pt3?

Whoooosh
@@hypnoz123 Thing is I ended up buying it!
Haven’t regretted either!
@@oracle-0018 that’s awesome lmao. It’s such a fun instrument. Cheers
can it produce anything else than fart sounds and filtered noise? because that is what all demos sound like
I love the sound of this thing but the fact that you can't randomize the steps of the sequencer is kind of a deal breaker. An 8 step sequence is way too boring
yeah everything else about is good but i wish they would of rethought the sequencer. At least add a midi jack.

I cannot see the point in this machine. How can you actually make music with this?? All what it is just chaotic noise coming out of it.
Awesome!
