Preparing your child for elective surgery at University Hospital Limerick

We understand that coming to hospital to have an elective surgery can be a frightening time for parents/guardians and their child. Due to restrictions during COVID-19, there is no opportunity to show patients around our wards at the moment. At University Hospital Limerick, we have put together a video to help explain to your child what happens when you come into our hospital. It aims to prepare your child for surgery and ease any concerns they may have. The virtual tour takes you step by step through our service - from arriving in our paediatric unit (the Children’s Ark) to the recovery room after theatre.
