I'm not sure if you are talking about Radar Warning System (RWR), but it will automatically trigger whenever you get beamed by the enemy radar if your RWR has a band that allows you to see enemy radar's band. Hope I described it better than i think I did

Heavily depends on what nation you want to grind. Both are decent, while the KA-50 being one the best anti-air helicopters in WT. Though after the BR change, you will often find yourself in an awful matchup against 11.7 SAMs. And the lack of thermals sometimes will get your eyes hurt on both helis
Love this heli but I will say the Chinese Z19 & Z19E are just the better all around, highly agile with decent air to ground missile but hands down the TY-90 is the best anti air helicopter mounted missiles in game which just makes you a duel purpose monster. Great gameplay btw!
not only this, but helis with no thermals are close to unusable on maps with bad weather and especially on night maps. against planes, you become almost absolutely useless unless an enemy pilot is just coming at you in a straight line
