We've had colour film for a LONG time but many films since have still been shot in black and white... And just because we have colour film doesn't mean we shouldn't make B&W films. There have been a lot of fantastic B&W films that were made after colour film was introduced (Psycho for instance). Some of these were shot in B&W for stylistic choices, some were because of budget constraints as well as other reasons. Also, your last sentence was pot calling the kettle black (or white).
Why does this movie get so much hate, I personally thought it was a dark, fun, mysterious, ominous, horror film, it really has that old Disney vibe, that makes you feel like it’s an old Disney film released years ago. The fact that it was filmed without Disney’s permission gives it even more creepier vibes. The score in the background was AMAZING 👏👏👏It actually felt so surreal like an old Disney score from the 1930’s or 1940’s. Overall I love this movie as a fun cult horror film to watch. It gets more sh’t than it deserves.
Have you seen the trailer for Gravity? All you get from it is: Space Shuttle has a horrible accident and an astronaut floats away. Period. Yet the film has gotten near-unanimous approval. So I wouldn't jump to any conclusions based on this trailer.
all i see is someone looking for shock value, this doesnt adverstise much else, idk maybe you got more out of the trailer than i did, but i didnt see much
I didn't go see Gravity EITHER. And pretty much for the same reasons. I'm not jumping to conclusions, I want to NOT jump to conclusions...that's why I'm asking for a bit more from the trailer than this, so that when I go into the theater, I'm not expecting one thing but getting another. Yanno?
I don't feel like the trailer conveys enough of the plot for me to decide whether I want to see it. All I really got from the trailer was "critics loved it" and "this was shot without permission at Disney" and a side helping of "By the way, it's creepy. Somehow. We're not tellin'." I had to go to three different websites to get even a bare-bones plot synopsis; no spoilers, just a here's-what-it's-about description. I don't see why everybody else seems so pumped for this, I really don't. Explain?
No offense to you, but technically speaking... with that comment, you just lowered yourself to the same level as the person you are judging/ criticizing. :)
How old are you? Seriously, watch more old film and learn to appreciate black & white. You can't dismiss decades of classics based on a bias like that.
They were like that because of the technology at that time. We have color now...lets use it. Especially in this day and age. There is a time and place for everything and i don't feel that this movie fits either of those. But hey you're entitled to have an opinion too even if it's a real shitty one.
Actually, it seems Wikipedia has a plot synopsis, albeit with spoilers.
Helps me make my decision on see/don't a lot better.

How are they not getting sued their asses off by Disney?
Escape from tomorrow is coming this Friday on DVD and video on demand.
They filmed it in Disney World. Disney had no idea at first.
No, it's actually been made without permission from Disney, to keep it a secret from them it was even edited in South Korea.
Bruh This Movie Was Unowned By Disney -10/10

Useless response a decade later
holy s*
I have watched this movie several times. I think it's great and you must be a ninja. Catflu = Covid-19
How many minutes of black and white should be allowed?
I think a Black and White movies had 48 Stars on American Flag and Color movies had 50 Stars on American Flag
Where does that leave me? I was born when there were 49 states.

is this really made from Disney because if it is then this is so not like them
How the fuck do you make a movie this weird?
Unresolved daddy issues
Ive seen it and its really confusing. Im not sure its scary, funny, or just plain dumb.
Maybe all three of them.
