Nice job! I can relate to the boat work, keeping our 30 year old Transworld 50 trawler going and looking good is constant work. We have the original engine in her too. I'm so glad we don't have wood cored decks! Ultimately, it's a labor of love.
Incredible result man--strong work! I've watched many of your videos, and at the risk of sounding like I'm really old...you guys are wise beyond your years. I don't know how old you two are, but the things you're doing while young make most others' lives look pretty damned boring. Fabulous entertainment on your channel! Thanks for making these videos.
Great job, great video. Bahamas report as soon as possible please. I hope you got some great footage of the crossing. Nothing better than that deep blue water, then Turing turquoise and every other beautiful color. Have a blast guys. Fair Winds. JC Will say a prayer for your trip.
trust fund kids , living lie lifestyle of the rich and famous. .that's easy ..you guys are getting it done on a budget ..and having just as much fun ..great channel. .
RIght on with that clean beach sand non-skid Billy. I've been using that combo for decades ! I think you are already across by the time this vlog got uploaded, but all my best to the FAM :) Enjoy your stay as well !! Capt Bruce, staying behind and jealous as heck ! :)
Man, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! I too own a 40 year old trawler that I just love here in Florida. Would be great if you could share all the anchorages with a short description in the Bahamas in one place. Once the boat is out of the yard, I want to do a trip to Bahamas but have never done it before, would love to know all the "good" spots for anchorages and food/bev places. Keep it up and have fun! SUBSCRIBED!!
Hi Fiven with Jetty! The boat really looks great, so be proud of your efforts. How long will be in the Bahama's? Sierra looks fantastic and no wonder. Her work out looks pretty tough. Looking forward to sharing your adventures.
OMG just got hooked on your vids!!! You guys are living the dream!!! Kudos... where on Long Island r u a lifeguard??? Keep up the awesome adventure!!! Love swimming with the dolphins!!!
Set up your own Amazon platform. I use Amazon all the time and am willing to use it. I'm sure a bunch of other subscribers would too. Love your channel.
+Chris Baumgarten we are an amazon affiliate and post some products we use regularly in our description. Is that what you mean? We should promote it more at the end of our videos probably right?
I'm not sure exactly how it works. I think it's called an Amazon Associates account. Example: Adam Corolla, radio broadcaster turned podcaster has whats known as a click though account. Your channel is getting better all the time. I have a couple ideas how you may be able to expand your audience. This is one, check it out! adamcarolla.com/shop-amazon-save-podcasting/ bandit7613@gmail.com
Someone tell me what are the big L shaped tubes used for on the back of the other big boat @4:34. Seems from the look of them, they are lowered into the water and shroud the props, for what purpose? Speed? Thanks.
Way to go guys. Hope your crossing was uneventful. We have a powerboat also and I was wondering what speed do you try to cross the gulf stream and do you leave from miami or further up the coast. What is your check in point? Trying to get as much info before we cross next year. Thanks, Charles
We cruise at about 5.5 knots (not by choice). We crossed boca to west end which was perfect. Last year we crossed Fort Lauderdale to Bimini which, if we did that one again with our boat speed we would leave from somewhere in Miami.
I have the same book!! This Old Boat (Older Edition)!! :) Did you put 5200 in your screw holes? It will keep them from getting water in the core again!
Great show, and I thought you were going to use that extra wood to make a live well somewhere, unless you already Have one, he didn't seem really excited about those fish you caught not very good?
Hey, guys. I love watching your vids, but the inconsistent audio levels are killing me! I'm constantly adjusting the volume while watching. Depending on the video editing software you're using, there should be an audio normalization setting. Or you may just have to adjust your music files to a lower volume. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_normalization
Yeah, it's certainly not nearly as bad as the earlier vids you had, but there's still a fairly large volume difference between your vocal audio and the overlay music audio. This may be too much extra dinking around, but if you were to use an external, perhaps clip-on mic, you would get MUCH better vocal audio quality. Audio quality is just as important, if not more important, than the video quality! All that being said... Keep the vids coming! I live in Wisconsin, and I love seeing what's going on down in FL (especially when it's 20 degrees and snowing, haha)!
Billy, give your email address to Erica so she can forward it to me. I have some stuff for you, but I need to contact you to make arrangements. Hope the Bahamas is a beautiful trip ! Enjoy. ps--- I have that book and it is definitely chock full of interesting tidbits .... Have you looked on Amazon for the rest of the books in that category ? Interesting stuff !!! /b/
Still lovin the vids. But two things.. ya gotta manage your sound levels better. Too much loud to quiet and loud again. And push your Patreon account! You guys should be getting $200 a vid, at least! Ok I'm done. :)
HAY, will you stop giving away the tricks of the trade us boat builders use please, we have to make a living out of owe trade you know..LOL, naaahh hahahaha well done mate, it is cost effective and you don't have to spend a million to fix a repair.
Yeah! Have fun guys!
Thanks J!
good to see you back, I look for you every time I go over the bridge
Just got back yesterday afternoon ;-) This east wind coming up cut our trip short :-(
Nice job! I can relate to the boat work, keeping our 30 year old Transworld 50 trawler going and looking good is constant work. We have the original engine in her too. I'm so glad we don't have wood cored decks! Ultimately, it's a labor of love.
I've built boats for years, you can also use a paint roller, the thicker the nap, the more agressive the nonskid.
Great job on the deck! Have fun and be safe in the Bahamas!!!
Thanks Jeff!
Thanks for the heads up on the sand in paint!

Nah, not great to eat. We let them all go. Still got the extra plywood to build something with...
+Tula's Endless Summer those little skipjack make some good marlin bait. I let the marlin go too but the fight is always fun.
Boatfam is off RUclips :( say hey to them!

Do you have to have a fishing license?
yes, of course. we both do. it is the law in FL
Who is Tula
