  • Crimea is a beautiful peninsula located on the Black Sea in Eastern Europe. It's known by its mild Midetteranian climate and beauty of subtropical nature. Staying in Yalta gives a good opportunity to visit majors sites of the peninsula: Bakhchysarai, Swallow nest Castle, Massandra palace, Nikitsky botanical garden, Livadia Palace, Vorontsov Palace, famous Ai-Petri picks and Yusupov Palace.

A college professor told me that Soviet Union was a dictatorship for their public and was a democracy when it comes to lawmakers and the secretary general, and land gifts were not allowed between countries, unless signed by Secretary general a,d legally endorsed by two third of lawmakers (politburo members) . Any land gift from one country to another has to be signed by the President (Khrushchev) and two third of lawmakers of the two countries. Khrushchev never avoided Crimean delegates of citizens visiting him in his office in Moscow after 1954. After the fall of communism, his children were subject to lynch mobs. He repeated to delegates that contrary to popular belief , that he never gifted Crimea from Russia to Ukraine. He told them russia still owns Crimea. The land transfer has to be signed by two third majority of all lawmakers of the two countries involved in a land grant. Two lawmakers, called MP or member of politburo) signed a typed letter with government letterhead in secrecy, one was a president of the duma foreign relations committee and other co-signer was a member of Duma. The document had said that the the two men were transferring Crimea from Russia to Ukraine. This is illegal. He told pretty all of the groups of delegates, every time that, contrary to popular belief, that he, Nikita Khrushchev, never gave or gifted Crimea from Russia - maps to Ukraine. He says he had once written an office memo one time at night when he came to the office. Next, the same year, Khrushchev, says he transferred salary funds and sources of salary and Crimea municipal expense funds from Russia treasury to Ukraine treasury. He told them that |Soviet were hidden from the public, and if he could reassure them, he cannot show them what the law say at the time. Khrushchev admitted that this may create confusion (or may not create confusion) in future if and when the Soviet Union broke up into individual nations. Khrushchev made it clear he never transferred the land-mass of Crimea from Russia to another country such as Ukraine. He transferred municipal expenses. It's like saying, the salaries of municipal town hall workers of Jackson, Mississippi will be coming from the government of Canada. Usually foreign workers of a neighboring country are not paid salaries by another country. But it can happen. It doesn't mean Canada owns Jackson, MS.

Your professor is a cunning manipulator. In 1991, Russia and Ukraine signed a treaty in which Russia RECOGNIZED THE TERRITORY OF UKRAINE and Ukraine recognized the borders of Russia. The world also recognized the borders of each country that emerged from the USSR. Say hello to the professor and tell him he's stupid.

But i do know that 1000ens of crimeans have had to flee from the place due to the russian invasion, occupation, terror and human rights abuse. But it will end, Crimea will again become Ukrainian. the rest of the world will not tolerate the russian aggression on Ukraine.
