11:57 is just proof of how much 2012 and rottmnt are just so fundamentally different. The dynamics between the brothers are more strained and honestly scarily fragile in one whereas the other has much less angst but more external love and validation
Nah, they aren't stained nor fragile, it's just that some dude lied on either Twitter or tumblr and everyone believed it but they clearly never watched 2012 show, Rise fans tend to exaggerate everything that happens in 2012 and they even say that they were abusive, tf. At the same time they ignore Rise's mistakes and enhance the show as it was some miracle sent from heaven.
I am a fan of both, and in both the turtles have a good relationship, they have a good father and good friends, April is great in both shows no matter what ppl say. And both shows have mistakes and weird things happening.
If ppl gonna nit pick every single thing in 2012, then do the same in Rise, lol.
They even hate on 2012 humor and ignore that in Rise Splinter's naked butt fell right on Leo's face.
They say 2012 Splinter was a vad father when he had the trust of his sons, good communication and even died protecting them. They say Rise Splinter was a great father for not training the turtles but that was bc of neglect.
They are "Girl Power" with Rise April but when 2012 suffers bc of misogyny (both by characters and writers) she suddenly is a B-word.
People have to understand that different kind of relationships and affection exists. A hug, a pat on the shoulder, listening to other's problems, being playful with each other, etc. It's all affection, and it's valid.
Both shows are great and you don't have to belittle one to favor another.
@@LittleCupcakeOfMemoriesthanks, when I got into two fandoms I too couldn't understand why everyone hates 2012 April and laughs about Donnie "being a simp" when he just fell in love in a normal way and even was ready to let it go in some episodes, and the whole problem with Leo and Karai - they weren't raised together, they didn't know each other, and even biologically they aren't siblings, so what's the problem? Only in labeling, but isn't that the thing so much people try to not care about nowadays? Well, Rise obviously has less lore and more jokes which can be good and bad at the same time.
Gradually, after spending more than two months in both fandoms, I forgot my own thoughts and even started to laugh at "whole problem with 2012 relationships" jokes.
Thanks for reminding me to stay true to my own thoughts and believes. I really do like both shows and the differences between them, and what you said is right - we don't have to put down one show in favor of other.

You can't tell me that raph doesn't bully mikey in 2012, he constantly takes every opportunity he finds to insult mikey and hits him constantly. He does it so often there are like 10 minute compilations of raph bullying mikey.
Rise raph on the other hand is the complete opposite. It's not a stretch at all to say that raph and mikey's relationship is better in rise than 2012. They are ALOT nicer to eachother and have an adorable big brother little brother bond.
This isn't to say that rise is completely healthy though, raph is overprotective and baby's mikey at times like in hot soup the game, he thinks his job as the oldest is to protect everyone (especially mikey) and can underestimate mikey's abilities and mikey is the one who unintentionally puts the most pressure on raph to fix the problems they are in.
The main difference is that these are flaws that occur because of the individual characteristics and not the actual relationship while 2012 its more of a problem with the relationship and how they see eachother.
With splinter I believe they are both pretty bad fathers. Rise splinter canonically neglectful and doesn't care much for anything. He neglects training until the very last second and rarely initiates any of interactions with his sons, opting to instead watch tv and reminisce about the old days. If you think about it 2012 splinter is very much the same. Other than training I don't think we ever see splinter hang out with the turtles. When he gives advice or consoles anyone it's always through the lense of "ninja" where they learn through training or need to become a better ninja etc. I'd honestly classify him more as a sensei than father which I guess he's supposed to be both but I always felt his father side should come first. I believe he also reminiscences about the old days but instead of watching TV he uses training and jiu-jitsu ad his scapegoat. They are both flawed but the difference is that rise splinter grows and gets better, manages his trauma and becomes a better father to his kids but 2012 splinter largely stays stagnant and doesn't get that much (or any) development at all.
We aren't saying rise relationships are perfect, we are saying that they are portrayed better in some aspects. Since we are talking about 2012's problems there isn't much use in bringing up rise's. I am a fan of both. I think that they are both great but have pros and cons, this is just one of 2012's cons.
