+1 for the Astro hub kit. I don’t do a lot of press in style bearing but it has always worked great and even if you take the while knuckle off and put it in the vice I still find it easier than trying to set it up in the press. But maybe that is because my first time doing a press in bearing I grenaded it by pressing the new race out with the hub 🤦♂️
Have you had to invest in press tools for the Gen2 hubs used on Ford/LR/Volvo/VW where the bearing is already on the hub?..... which means you have to get around the hub to press in the bearing?
Have a question for you FRM, I recently started a auto job in a California Dealership about two months ago, at first the service manager and I agreed he’d start me off at 18/hr and see how I’d do since I told him I had experience 15yrs of it. Is it too soon to ask him for that $/hr that I wanted? Others tell me to just get another job because they don’t take me serious. What should I do?
Just my two cents, it’s not hard to find a job right now, especially technicians. If he’s screwing you around, shop around and see what’s out there. A lot of times, places like this will bank on you being lazy to look or afraid to leave. I know a guy that asked for a raise, they said they couldn’t do it. A couple weeks later, he put in his notice. All of a sudden, they found room in the budget to offer him a raise.

Astro Pneumatic probably has the best service in tbe industry (outside of the tool truck guys that actually warranty stuff).
I have that Astro wheel bearing kit and it works great. Cheaper than the HF Maddox kit & better quality as well.
Thanks for the update ! Great video
You always make great videos that are entertaining to watch
C-Mon I would not used that socket to remove a crank bolt, it is not meant for that. but ok, thanks for the update on "Dont's"
A true Teacher. 👍
*MATCO and ORANGE for the win!!!!*
💢I haven't broke none of my Astro pneumatic super shallow sockets yet😏hope I didn't JYNX myself😯
Love Astro tools and their prices but hate the cases they come in
Thanks.
Astro makes the inflators for all the tool truck brands.
What brand of cars do you like and hate working on? And what do you drive FRM
Any tips working as tire and lube tech
No weighted socket for the crank pulley bolt?

You have to pull the hub out of the bearing then press the bearing from the wheel knuckle.
So does VIM just send you new brass tips or they entire tool when the brass is beat?
They are NOT warrantied, they are consumable, just the tip, it is held in with a roll pin

@@JakeNaughtFromStateFarm lol that’s exactly what just happened to me
@@WOMPCRASH Doesn’t surprise me. Had an old man tell once, “If I have to quit to get a raise, it’s too late.” Lol
Sick of spending huge cash in shitty tools!
24mm crank bolt? Chevy? Those these are stubborn
I have a cheap Amazon press in bearing set. For $139 it rocks! I never need a press and can usually get the job done in half the time.
The Astro kit is under $100
Love your videos but are you not ameant to be on hollidays
1st!
Runner up that is 👍
