    Hi! Thanks fo sharing this video. We bought toyota liteace 2nd hand las week and i would like to change the flooring because its very old and dirty. Could you give me the size of the old floor matt that you have? 😁

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  7 лет назад

      Hi John, we don't have the measurements of the old carpet. What we did was use cardboard to trace out the floor and then use the tracing to cut wood.

    I know it's been three years but by any chance u still have the original interior up for sale? Im planning on a very basic camper with my newly bought liteace and the spinning seat and fold to the side would be a great addition compare to my current fixed seat

      @@24hourtravellers it does, but not like yours. its fixed into place. The middle row cant be spin around and the last row cant be folded to the side. Mine is also a 1.8 2Y high roof model. been in a family who takes good care of it. Lucky to have it

    I'm curious how much you saved before starting out

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  2 года назад +1

      Hi Oscar, there is(was) no magic number for us to start. At the time of this video, we hadn't manage to sell "everything" although was the initial thought.
      We bought the smallest, cheapest most reliable van we could find at the time and just started. Why this worked out in the end was:
      1) It got the ball rolling for us to try out van life and to see if it was something we enjoyed.
      2) Go Small Go Now, with no carpentry skills or mechanical skills by starting small, it was easier to manage. We could always upgrade later.
      3) In hind sight selling everything at one go wouldn't have been a good thing coz it takes a long time to sell stuff off at the price you think it is worth. Desperate selling is dangerous.
      4) Get it out of our system. We had a burning desire to just sell all n go, but somehow we couldn't because the market was slow. So by starting with a small van, we were able to get rid of the craving. We spent our time working towards our future goal which was to drive to the UK one day.
      So in summary, there's no magic number. Start now, wherever you are at. ❣️ Hope this helps.

    The reflectix does it come with sticky tape on one side cos I see you paste it on roof very nicely.

    • @24hourtravellers
      @24hourtravellers  6 лет назад

      Andrew Ong reflecix we didn't stick to ceiling. It sits on the frame supports. In order for reflectix to work best is to have a gap between the ceiling metal n get reflectix so the heat doesn't get transferred into van. Hope this helps.
