Jiri is in jeopardy here. He needs a lot more time to adjust his style to predict Pereira's 'in the pocket' moves. Pereira is a defensive fighter with massive power, and is Jiri's hardest matchup. Jiri will have to avoid fighting in the pocket to win. I think Jiri's strategy will be to take him down, tire out Pereira's arms, and then go on the hunt. That's at least what I would do if I were him.
Even then, fighting Alex from the outside is extremely tough as well
We saw what happened to Jiri when he was at distance with Alex and his legs got pieced UP
Try to close distance too fast? Alex will gladly get in the pocket and throw bombs, that’s exactly how he beat Jiri last time, using his own tendency to rush to close the void against him
Take too much time? Alex will lose respect and walk you down like he did with Strickland and Hill, and once he starts coming forward, good luck stopping him
There’s literally nowhere on the feet that’s safe against Alex, I only see Jiri winning this convincingly if it’s on the ground as well

If you watch Jiri's fighting history he has always been a very active fighter but when he got signed to the UFC his activity dropped considerably (fighting once in 2020, 2021 & 2022,2023 ), these because of the logjam in the LHW division at the time and the shoulder injury he suffered end of 2022.
I think an active Jiri is a dangerous Jiri and there certain adjustments that I believe he can make to get the W

The thing is Ankolayev tried to call his shot by saying he would fight Perreira in Abu Dhabi whenever that is so not only he is a contender who’s trying to call shots but also Alex said he wanted to be active and lastly I am not entirely sure that Ank is legally able to fight in the US sort of similar to Khamzat but most importantly Ankolayev shouldn’t try to call shots until he does have that belt. Otherwise I’m sure the UFC would have at least thought to make this fight and yes Ankolayev is not boring and is a fresh matchup for the weight class title picture but let’s not forget about the controversy that seems to follow him in more of his fights than we can just write off as bad luck… in any case, Ankolayev could be the kryptonite matchup for Perreira but he’s not doing himself any favors by not being active and calling shots…

Knocked out Johnny Walker (good win but Walker is extremely chinny )
Prior to that he was in a no contest with Walker where he should have been disaqualified!!

The UFC I believe will make him fight once more, or they might give him his shot in Abu Dhabi in October.

Who the hell is doing the matchmaking for Smith, i know LHW has some real killer strikers currently so i don't know necessarily who'd be a better matchup for Smith that is ranked, but still, I def wouldn't have picked Carlos Ulberg. Ulberg is bout as scary as Roundtree or Hill are on the feet, and we know what happened when Smith faced Roundtree. So I'm not too sure this is a "great fight", more like a massacre.
