✔️ European Reacts to Greatest Symbols of America - Reaction For the First Time
My Dad said when he was coming home on a ship at the end of WWII, all the soldiers were crying with emotion to see the Statue of Liberty.
Thats beautiful ❤
Getting back to the states is really emotional. With or without the Statue of Liberty. I did a 2 1/2 year tour in West Germany. You get off the plane and everything is in English. America just smells and feels different. I cried. I loved Germany for a tour, but it wasn't home. I hope your dad is still with you, thank him for his service for me. It was an incredible generation.
Yeah Clint Eastwood is One of the best Western actors. I like him in Gran Torino
😊 his name is Clint Eastwood.😊
@@rhiahlMTSadly my Dad died when I was 42 and am 76 but I was blessed to have such a wonderful Dad. He was responsible for engineering work on the really large bombers and stationed at English Air Bases which were bombed but he was never hurt. Thank you for your service to our country. 🇺🇸
It's Clint Eastwood. I think the Liberty Bell needs to be on the list.
The Liberty Bell could easily replace the Hollywood sign.
@@vernonharden Or Clint Eastwood. I have enjoyed his work, but there are a lot of other iconic actors.
@@greeneyedlady5580, I'd rather see landmarks or other monuments than something like the Hollywood sign. As for people, that could be a totally separate lists. Which honestly such listings can get very subjective. But Clint Eastwood would definitely be on one of my lists. What may surprise some though, is the Eastwood was also actually pretty good singer.
Changing the number of stars on the flag doesn't matter. There have always been stars added. I have seen two added for Alaska and Hawaii.
The bars will never change because they refer to the original 13 colonies.
Me too!
They got the definition of a cowboy wrong. Cowboys are people who tend cattle. What they were describing sounded more like Mountain Men, drifters, or maybe even homesteaders.
They were describing the mythos kept alive by Westerns. Has very little to do with historical fact.
I agree, my father was a cowboy and I married a cowboy. Neither of them were loners just looking looking for solitude. A cowboy is someone who's work requires them to spend a lot of time on their horse, tending to the herd. making sure they're not injured or sick, making sure the fences are secure, rounding them up to change grazing area, etc. They work long hard days. at a rough, dirty jow, usually for very low pay.
In Arizona, we saw a large bald eagle resting in the corner of our backyard. It was resting on the blocked concrete fence, within the shaded tree area. This eagle was the most beautiful animal I ever saw. Majestic. You could see its confidence and superiority. It also appeared very peaceful and content in our presence, not startled by our presence. What a great experience in seeing this exquisite bird.
Clint Eastwood just turned 94 years old on May 31st!, and he is still working!
He IS an American Icon and a Living Legend! Love Clint Eastwood ❤
You got that right!❤
Clint Eastwood is a Man's Man!!
I had the opportunity to wait on Clinton Eastwood as a waitress in Southern California in my younger years at a Mexican restaurant. I brought him and his partner two Grande Margaritas. Clint stated I must be lifting weights on my time off and I laughed. He then said “I lift weights too, here feel this.” Then he lifted his right arm and started to flex his muscle. I of course, was a bit shocked but touched his arm and said yes. Later he gave me his autograph with Love to Leona. I still have that today!
What a cool memory! @@LeonaRasalas
@@LeonaRasalas Wow! Very cool story. I'm actually envious😋
Perhaps Crazy Horse Monument should be included, though the last I saw it, it was still not finished, but isn't real far from Mount Rushmore. Also things like Niagara Falls and other great sites in are many national parks. A list of top 50 or even 100 symbols could be made easily.
The Statue of Liberty has a twin statue in Paris, France, most people don't know this. In 1986 when they did restoration on the statue, they replaced the torch and the original torch is in the museum at the base of the statue. They debated on removing the tarnish and bringing back the beautiful copper color, but were afraid further exposure to the sea would cause the thin sheets of copper to decay faster and damage the statue. They floated the idea of gold plating her, but opted to only plate the torch due to cost.
I would have put the Liberty Bell on the list and taken off the Hollywood sign.
I would have definitely had the Liberty Bell on the list.
Cali here. You are so right!
Everyone around the world knows the Hollywood sign .
Everyone may know the Hollywood sign but it doesn't represent our nation, only one cultural commercial part.
Fun fact: The statue of Liberty is all copper , it's only that color because of the tarnish
I rember being in Grammer school and all kids donating pennies to report it! Around 1965 I think❤

Trivia question....
Is the statue of liberty in New York or New Jersey ?
The statue of liberty is actually in New Jersey. It is in the Hudson river and the state line between New Jersey and New York goes down the middle of the Hudson and the statue of liberty happens to be on the New Jersey Side of the line
Clint Eastwood. My dad was always fond of his movies and John Wayne's.
Clint Eastwood and John Wayne were two classic cowboy movie stars.
This was a good one .
André... there are laws about bald eagles.
You can not even pick up or own a Bald Eagles feather from the ground. If you find a Bald Eagle's feather or a carcass or egg, you must contact a Wildlife official in the area.
The ONLY way to be in possession of a bald Eagle's feather is to be a Native American, and it must be gifted by the tribe.
I learned in Alaska that it's illegal to cut down any tree that has a bad eagle nest in it.
I wonder what happened to the two illegal aliens that killed a bald eagle and ate it! That was shut up really quick!
While I think all these are deserving,
I would not include:
- the Hollywood sign, it was just advertising
- probably not the cowboy unless it included all the many Africans and Native Americans who were cowboys.
I would include the
1- the grand canyon due to natural beauty.
2 - the Niagara falls due to beauty.
3- the golden gate bridge
4- the Gateway Arch in St. Louis for its representation of the move to settle the west
5- Mount Rushmore
6 - the sites in DC:
- the Lincoln Memorial
- the White House
- the Capitol building
- the Smithsonian
- the Pentagon
7- the sights in NYC
- the World Trade Center monument
- Statue of Libeety
- Ellis Island
8 - Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg
9 - Any flag, but the one that flew over Ft. McHenry would be best.
10- Uncle Sam as a symbol of our willingness to give our life for our country.
If and when we add another state, another star must be added to the flag. That is the way it works.
I love your list, and fully agree. And yes--dump the Hollywood sign and cowboy symbol.
Love your smile at American treasures!
The honorable mentions had more right to be on the list than the beginning of the list!
Mt Rushmore gets over 2,000,000 visitors a year. It was one of my most favorite vacations. It included several other stops like the Crazy Horse Monument and very nice museum, Wall Drug Store (kind of a Buckees type place), Custer State Park, antique train ride at Keystone, Black Hills, Deadwood, and the Badlands. If you go that far, there's plenty to see.
Growing up in Rapid City, SD. Every time we had company from out of state Mt Rushmore was the first place we went, so as a kid it lost it's grandger. But after Growing up it's come back. I've been lucky to see how the four seasons change it appearance, even watched the 4th of July fireworks shot over it. I've attended a couple of high school graduations there as well. I have to say I was very lucky to grow up where I did!
I can’t lie, It did kind of irk me when he questioned Mt Rushmore in a difficult state.
@@gregperryman2672 I think you might have been trying to say g"grandeur? I grew up in eastern Montana, and we took a family trip there when I was about 4. Unfortunately, I was far too young to really appreciate the monument. Not I'm wishing that I'd give again when I was older. I've lived in western Oregon for 40 years, so it would be a long trip. If I'm ever able to go back tto eaten Montana. I'd like to see it. Maybe a good faith will leave me the money to go to my 50 year class reunion.
AND, Gravity AReas. Which I liked the best of all things South Dakota as a little kid
14:35 on a sidenote, we raised turkeys on our farm, and they are a very unique animal. The local Indian tribes took a lot of their lifestyle from the cues of the turkey. Some native dances resemble the strutting and aggressive movements of Toms. George Washington and other founding fathers actually bred turkeys. Turkey toms are protective, showy, and very smart. They’re territorial and they will definitely suss out the bad guys from the good guys.
Domestic turkey are really stupid. When it rains they look up to see the rain, and drown!
That song was Aaron Tippon, was released several days after 911, it's "Where the Stars and Stripes, and the Eagle Flys"
Another old person here - when I was growing up, there were only 48 states with the corresponding number of stars on the flag. Then Alaska and Hawaii became states about 6 months apart in 1959, and their stars were added to the flag. The change was interesting but no big deal.
lol, yes, we also like "ca-boys"! The real thing (cowboys) still exist! Yes, they still exist because their talents are still needed. We still have rodeos as a way to respect what it took (and sometimes takes) to raise cattle and to 'settle' the American wild west.
Absolutely.
The military has a department of heraldry, and they have a design for a 51-star flag ready to go just in case we get another state. Also, the thirteen stars on the US seal represent a "new constellation" that appeared in "the firmament of the nations" in 1776, so it makes sense to continue to have the stars represent states on the flag. So, for complete consistency the current US seal would also need to have 50 stars - the "constellation" has significantly grown (this is also the significance of the name "USS Constellation").
They changed the flag, number of stars everytime a new state was added. I remember the 48 star flag changing when Alaska became a state 7 rows of 7 stars. Then 2 years later, all new flags with 50 stars when Hawaii became the latest state. There is no discussion about this, it is tradition and is just done!!!
Not quite every time. The states represented on the flag during the War of 1812 was fifteen. Yet at the time Tennessee (1796), Ohio (1803), and Louisiana (1812) had been admitted to the Union. So there were actually eighteen states at the time. However due to the time of entry of Louisiana into the union, just over a month and a half had elapsed. Prior to that, the previous update was in 1794.
The ONLY movie "The Alamo" was with John Wayne. The story behind the movie is awesome too. But if you watch any, please watch John Wayne's movie first.
New york yankee is one of the orginal baseball teams from the beginning along with the dodgers and cubs
nonsense, the cubs are one of the original teams the Yankees started in 1903.
Bit of trivia about the Statue of Liberty.
In the early days of designing a statue, the statue was originally supposed to be built along the Suez Canal when the Canal was completed. The Egyptians thought it was too expensive since they were already spending so much money into the canal so instead built the Port Said Lighthouse on the proposed spot of the statue. The idea was eventually redesigned to express the idea of American liberty.
You can go into the crown of the Statue of Liberty but over a hundred years ago you used to be able to go into the torch as well. It was closed after German Saboteurs blew up a nearby railyard in what is today Liberty State Park called the Black Tom explosion in 1916. It created a large enough explosion that it could be heard all the way in Philadelphia and Baltimore. The explosion created shrapnel that damaged the statue. This was before America had joined WW1 and was still neutral but the saboteurs were trying to attack war supply shipments that the U.S. was sending to the Allied powers in Europe.
Andre!! I love my country. ..USA🇺🇸 But!!!!! I wanna see your beautiful country of PORTUGAL 🇵🇹
bring it on dude!🤘 come on!
IN MY VIEW
Alaska and Hawaii have now become (U.S.) States.
Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Island are called (U.S.) Territories.
In your view? That's just rock solid FACTS.
18:34 Patton is right! Americans do love a good fight. That’s why we love football, that’s why we work so hard for our families. We may not want to fire a gun at an enemy, but it takes a certain kind of fighting spirit person to pack up everything they’ve owned, take their family across the sea and havk a nation out of the wilderness. That kind of grit and determination is in our blood. Every so often we’ve been challenged by enemies, foreign and domestic on how badly were willing to fight to keep our country. The same battle is upon us today.
When I was very young the flag had 48 stars then Alaska and Hawaii no one complained of adding stars
I remember it was a big deal. The schools had to buy all new flags! Every home traded in the old flag for the new one. That's when I learned of the ceremonial burning of old flags no longer in service.
@@cyirvine6300 I've still got my dad's 48-star casket flag. He was given a military funeral because he served in WWII, but unfortunately died when I was 4.
Love it when you pause. It is the reason I listen to you, otherwise I could just watch their video only. Thanks.
I do not think that many Americans balk at changing the flag for new states. The reason Washington DC and Puerto Rico don't have Statehood is a little more complex. Both of them tend to lean more towards the Democratic Party over the Republican Party, and would very much upset the balance of power in the Senate. There is more to this than just what I have said, but I wanted to keep this short.
Plus the FEDERAL District of Columbia was NEVER supposed to be a state (being both a State and the center of the federal government would be unfair to all of the other statesl As it is, citizens in DC get FAR more money per person from the Federal government than anyone else). If the citizens want Statehood, just return the suburbs back to the original states where they came from. Puerto Rico has voted several times on being a state or becoming independent from the USA. The vote has never been overwhelming either way. Both have advantages and disadvantages. As the primary language is Spanish, that too is an issue in the whole mix.
@@dking1836In addition, whenever "remain a protectorate" is on the ballot in Puerto Rico, it wins overwhelmingly.
The initials of the United States is U.S.
The initials of Uncle Sam is U.S. Hence, Uncle Sam is a nickname for The United States.
People generally use it when referring to the US government
That's not why people can the government uncle Sam. With that logic any name that starts with S could have been used
Yes, thats why. @@gh3meister
@@gh3meister But one name had to be selected. Why not Sam - like Samuel adams maybe?
In Hawaii, they refer to all American citizens as cousins. We are all cousins because we all have the same uncle, Uncle Sam.
I would have been really disappointed in mojo if they did not include Team America flying out of Mt. Rushmore. I'm glad they added it at the end.
The New York Yankees - Joe Dimagio, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle are just some of the famous players, plus the team even had a Broadway play & then movie named after them “Damn Yankees”. Big deal in baseball history
Go Yankees ! ❤❤❤❤
Plus you can see people wearing their cap in countries were they don’t play baseball.
Yankees have the most World Series titles, more than twice as the 2nd place team.
No Yankees are not that good
Growing up, I always heard "as American as baseball and apple pie"
There is a movie The Alamo (1960) starring John Wayne as the fort defenders made a last stand as the Mexicans attacked.
The New York Yankees have a history that just screams cinema from fairytale endings to tragic Shakespearean downfalls. They’ve also won the World Series 27 times and the next best team sits at 11. I am a Yankees fan from Illinois and last year me and my friends drove 14 hours straight to New York City to stay for 2 days and see the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium. It’s a surreal atmosphere unlike any other in American sports. And by far the best stadium food!
There should have been on this list one of the majestic symbols of Native Americans. Leaders such as Red Cloud, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull were powerful forces in shaping our culture…as you may recall with half the states bearing Native American words and names.
I agree. There should have been at least one mention on the list of our Native American brothers and sisters. Especially in place of the Hollywood sign.
I think they were going for top 10 things that the world thinks about when they think America. And doubt anyone who isnt American would ever even think about Native Americans
Nice try chief.
@@hsvkid Sorry that logic triggers you
the most famous native american nowadays is probably john redcorn
Presidents on Mount Rushmore - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abe Lincoln were all Land Surveyors in their early lives. I am a Land Surveyor by trade. We affectionally like to call this majestic monument (3 Surveyors and some other guy!)
The reason the NY Yankees was on the list is because the term "Yankee" was how the British referred to people from the colonies. It later made a comeback during the Civil War referring to people from the north or the Union Army. My home state of Connecticut has an official State Song called "Yankee Doodle". It was written to mock us colonists. We made it our marching song.
The mountain used for Mt Rushmore was actually a sacred place for some Native Americans. The Lakota Sioux peoples were given the Black Hills by the govt in 1868; That is until gold was found there in 1870 and the govt kicked them out; Then for the same govt blasting 4 leaders of said govt l.on a sacred site...Jeeze.
@@humanbeing1168 Really? We an play the game of who took over from who for months but you missed the whole point. This country actively used biological warfare to eradicate a group of peoples in the name of greed. Trail of tears as each native people were forced to leave their homes. Tribal lands now have their nations but that's until the feds wants something. Same old story different day. Those who have not know history are doomed to repeat it.
I've never heard of anyone being opposed to adding new States simply because it would change the stars on the flag.
nor have i.
Yeah never, and that would be the dumbest possible reason...
But it's an even 50 right now! Who would want to change that?! It's such a nice, even number!
(I'm joking)
@@revpembroke3082 I'm glad you're joking. It was also a nice even number at 14, 16, 20, etc. The country didn't blow up when we had to change our flags from 48 to 50. I don't know why people get so nuts about adding new states. Puerto Rico should be able to become a state if they want to. The people of DC also have a right to be represented. A for value of the US from the beginning was "no representation without representation".
Where would we put a NEW state.. lol.. our map is FULL already 🤣
My top ten symbols of the US... in food:
10. Turkey. Native to North America, it quickly supplanted goose as the preferred food for feasts in Europe.
9. Apple Pie. Apples aren't even endemic to North America, but "as American as apple pie" isn't a slogan for nothing.
8. Blueberries. One of the best fruits on the planet and native to the US.
7. Chinese food. In a similar way that Indian food now represents the UK, Chinese food now represents the US. I live outside a small town with just four fast food restaurants... and a Chinese restaurant.
6. Peanut butter. George Washington Carver promoted peanuts as an alternative to growing cotton and many farmers took his advice, making peanuts and peanut butter inexpensive and widely available.
5. American cheese. Not even cheese in the technical sense, and the cheap brands aren't even made with milk, but it goes with everything and melts perfectly.
4. KFC. Most of the world ate chicken before Colonel Sanders came along, but he redefined what good chicken tastes like.
3. Pizza. An Italian invention which reached its peak here in the US.
2. Hot dogs. The ultimate mystery meat creation.
1. Hamburgers. Few people think of the hamburger as anything but the ultimate food symbol of the US. Latest consensus of opinion is that the hamburger was invented in the New York area sometime around 1900, but all claims to having been the first are suspect. Whoever invented it, it caught on like wildfire.
Clint Eastwood, Andre. 🤭
If you like western novels, try an author named Louis L'Amour. He wrote both short stories and novels. Quite a few of his stories have been turned into film. He has been published in Spanish, but not Portuguese
My nephew, when he was young, also liked Zane Grey.
Owen Wistor's novel The Virginian is my favorite
@@jeandoten1510I absolutely loved that book when I was a pre-teen.
My father was an old boy:legged cowboy. He grew up riding horses and carrying for the castle on the family farm, which my parents bought when my grandparents retired. When I was growing up, he worked long hard days farming and ranching, and then after dinner he'd retire to his easy shake to read Zane Grey or Louis L''Amour novels.
The eagle, in times of Peace looks towards the olive branch. In times of War, it looks towards the arrows.
In times of utter confusion, the eagle looks right at you.

The Golden Gate Bridge is constantly being painted. Then they end at one side, they start back up on the other side.
The guy on a horse with the Statue Of Liberty is Charleston Heston from the original first movie The Planet Of The Apes. A very, very good film. Highly suggested. 1968. 17:20 mark.
I absolutely love how you said Clint Westwood, which is so cute not trying to sound flamboyant, but it is hilariously cute because his name is Clint Eastwood
Love the movie Good bad and The ugly! Also another good one is called Red River that's a John Wayne film! Quintessential also lonesome Dove! 🔥🤟🇺🇸
I love John Wayne! I grew up watching all his movies with my dad! Red river was one of his favorites!
The stars on the flag have changed often in its history.
Yeah 37 times since 1800. The flag has changed. We started with 13.
If you go by how the movies have represented America to the world, this is probably a good list. If you want a list that represents the history, I would go a different route.
I recall a bit of a song I sang as a child in school. The song contained things that are American symbols. Apple pie (yes I know it's UK origins but please bear with me), swan, baseball, TV, and Superman. But us who are citizens are THE American symbol. I have nothing but absolute confidence as an American citizen.
Oh no, the farting scene from Blazing Saddles is almost a cult favorite. The whole movie is very entertaining and funny.
Maybe check out the Patton speech "Ranger Up". Very iconic speech
There's been 27 versions of the flag. It'll change if another state happens.
Perhaps Puerto Rico.
Sam Wilson was likely the originator of Uncle Sam. His friends called him that. He had contracts to supply the military with beef during the war of 1812. All his goods were stamped U.S. Since it's the U.S. as the United States. That name just became synonymous with the government. Nothing is more satisfying than the Boston Red Sox or the Baltimore Orioles kicking the New York Yankees a** during baseball season. NY is one of those historical teams, started in the 1800s. So, they've had more opportunities to win the World Series. Watch "The Alamo".
Lol . Clint Eastwood 😁
"clint westwood" 😂🤣
it's clint EASTwood. easy mistake to make. and this is why we love ya. never change. no shance!!!
I can't think of anyone who would be upset about adding more stars to represent a new state. Nope. We Americans are glad to accept and acknowledge our fellow americans, and all states deserve their star. Mho
John Wayne was a good cowboy
Speaking strictly for myself I would be honored to add another star to our flag. It's a time honored tradition. That's how we went from the original 13 to the fifty of today. Change is progress, and change for a good reason like growth is positive. So I would welcome the assimilation of a new state. To add it's distinctiveness to our own.
Its more about the balance of power in Congress than the design of the stars. DC & Puerto Rico are thought to be more likely to trend Democratic than Republican. Its a bit like Over Simplified's bit on adding states before the Civil War.
Dont forget gerermo as you running we used to shout germono from az.
Geronimo
Earlier this year a veterinarian that hunts on our land, he brought up a few deer that was hit by cars…we have a camera that could see what came to feed on the road kill…we had ravens, crows and 2 bald eagles came to get some meat…
I live by Mount Rushmore - it's pretty impressive
There are so many things to do and see, I wouldn't know where to start. The Wildlife loop is a fun one where you can end up driving through a bunch of buffalos or feed carrots to the Begging Burros (they will stick their head in your car and take your drink out of your hands if not careful). Iron Mountain road has 3 tunnels and they are all carved to be lined up with Mount Rushmore. As you drive through the tunnels, you see Mt Rushmore in the distance. Crazy Horse Monument is a work in progress and will end up to be even bigger than Mount Rushmore. Come during early August and see more motorcycles than cars everywhere you go. Of course there are tourist things everywhere you turn (Reptile Gardens, Bear Country USA, Rush Mountain Adventure Park, etc).
11:45 Yes, Uncle Sam was a real person. His actual name was Samuel Wilson. He was a meatpacker/meat inspector who lived in Troy, New York. During the War of 1812, Samuel Wilson's meatpacking business was a subcontractor which supplied the U.S. Army troops with meat rations during the war. The name of the parent company was Elbert Anderson. The barrels of meat which came from the Elbert Anderson company were stamped with: "E.A. - U.S." (Elbert Anderson, United States.) As time went on, the workers in the plant began saying, "Hey, this meat is for 'Uncle Sam'!", because of the "U.S." stamp on the barrels. And that's how Samuel Wilson got the nickname "Uncle Sam", and in later years became a treasured symbol of the United States of America!
Clint EASTWOOD! LOL The Yankees just swept my Giants today...ugh. that sucked😂 I live in San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge is so beautiful. Stop pausing every second....thanks.

Great review!! Regard the Alamo, there are 3 or 4 movies about the battle. The scene shown in this is the latest and was a very good as well as accurate account of the battle. This one was from Disney productions, if I remember correctly and I believe it was directed by Ron Howard. It came out in 96 I believe. I would encourage you to watch it, if you feel inclined it would be great to see your review of the movie. It did bomb at the box office, just like the John Wayne version of the the battle from the 1960s. Iconic battle but no body seems to go to the movies to see the movie.
I love historical battle movies! Some aren’t accurate and some are brilliantly done and ARE accurate… but my husband and I were history majors.
Alamo, the Price of Freedom is an Imax film and the most accurate representation of the battle. It plays several times a day at the imax across the street from the Alamo in San Antonio and quite a few field trips for students to watch.
Georgia has a craving on the side of Stone Mountain of Robert E Lee it up their with Mount Rushmore
US have a few territories as you mentioned (Puerto Rico, ect). All have the right to vote themselves in as another state. There are certain criteria they have to meet in order to do so but if they vote in favor then the flag will change as it has many times over the last couple centuries.
It's also nice that they are territories because we don't have to have a passport to go.
Congress would have to approve the addition of any new state. and we're so deadlocked not that it won't happen. Puerto Rico has already voted to become a state.
There was a time when the Twin Towers would've been considered for this list.
I think you're right about the flag. Although there are people who already think there are 51 states, it's questionable. 51 states would just change the alignment of stars! Don't know if such a video exists, but it might interest you to see the different US flags over the decades, especially as new States are added.
There is also a Statue of Liberty in Paris, not far from the Eiffel Tower.
Mongolians hunting wolves with eagles is a must google video, my friend!
Thanks for the entertainment! Hope you make it stateside soon.
America...F yeah!! ❤😊
I sang that in my head 🤣
We have bald eagles that nest around our lake cabin. More than once an eagle has flown right next to our boat, matching our speed. INCREDIBLE!
The Cowboy around the campfire in Blazing Saddles in the black & red, cowboy hat off.. is my fellow High School Alum & friend, Actor Burt (Burton)Gilliam... We attended Woodrow in Dallas Texas
That area of South Dakota is fabulous! We visited when attending the Sturgis motorcycle rally.
The Yankees, as is said in Boston, suck!!! The reason they are so famous is because they have won the most World Series championships. The Yankees would not have had Babe Ruth had the owner of the Red Sox not sold him to the Yankees.
I grew up in Marin County. Crossed that bridge all the time. I love it! The photos taken where you see the bridge and San Francisco in the distance are taken from the Marin Headlands. We used to go there all the time as there are old military bunkers and beaches all over the headlands as well as the beautiful sight of the Golden Gate.
The Hollywood sign. NOT. So much. William s
I took a school theater trip to NY and let me tell you those stairs to get to the crown in the Statue of Liberty are no joke! Top 3 most perilous feeling in my life and I was only 14. It is a spiral staircase and the steps are the narrowest I can recall traversing. It was worth it though esp since they closed it shortly after. Not sure if they have reopened it since the renovations. The deck at the top of the Empire State Building is wild too! It is so much more open so you feel the height more than enclosed safely in Liberty’s crown. The wind is so strong and people told us urban legends about people trying to un-alive themselves by jumping but getting thrown to safety by said wind. I hope you get to make many visits with your family and see all the things!
0:40 The classic movie, "North by Northwest" directed by British immigrant Alfred Hitchcock, is lots of fun. And love "The Searchers" movie clips from 1956. You'd enjoy that film, unmatched photographic art.
Clint EASTWOOD
Well the kid who made the 50 star flag was a high school kid so if we get another state that might be pretty cool to see what another kid comes up with. Forgot to mention Merica F@$k yeah.
Fun fact: The same guy who did Mt. Rushmore also did Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain, GA.
True Grit, one and two, The Alamo, Rooster Cogburn, The Shootist, The Cowboys, Rio Lobo, The Sons of Katy Elder, Cahill US Marshall and Big Jake are all fantastic John Wayne movies.
The funny cowboy gun shot scene is from an iconic western movie "BLAZING SADDLES" total great movie that makes fun of all Americans. It is a true much watch "my friend"
This video of the greatest symbols of America is kind of quirky. Probably a better representation of our greatest symbols is found elsewhere on RUclips.
I’m old enough to remember when the flag had 48 stars. Redesigning it for Alaska and Hawaii happened when I was in grade school. No big deal. It’s more about politics than the flag that many resist having DC and PR become states.
Really like your videos, especially the respect you always show for America. You made me laugh in a good way, it's Clint Eastwood, you almost nailed it & you're right. The Good, the Bad & the Ugly is the best spaghetti western!❤ Almost forgot, when you come to see Mt. Rushmore, you need to check out Crazy Horse too. Even tho it isn't quite finished, it is still something to behold.
Our bauld eagle and flag
I’m still in love with Clint Eastwood. (And with Robert Redford.)
I’ve never seen Mt. Rushmore, nor have I seen the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hollywood sign. I have, however, seen the Statue of Liberty.
I think I would add the Niagara Falls and the White House to iconic symbols of America.
The Golden Gate Bridge still exists in Star Trek (Starfleet Academy is in San Francisco), but the roadway is covered in solar panels.
4:42 The New York Yankees have won way more World Series than any other team and they were in the most famous city in America, NYC, back in its hey day. Also, baseball was the biggest sport in America in the early 1900s. Today it's American football, but back then baseball was easily number one. So, it became a symbol of winning and of the glitz and glamour of NYC, which I think had far more of it back in the 1920s, 30s and 40s than it has today. 7
