I watched this film at midnight at IMAX. Spent the entire bus ride home in a wonderful trance. For me, this is everything science fiction was meant to be.
I''ll forever regret not being able to experience this in IMAX...
Christopher Nolan (director of the movie) consulted an astrophysist with every depiction of space, fourth dimension, entering a black hole and the spacetime continuum. This movie is the closest to what any of those would look like. It's the most astrologically accurate movie out there at the moment.

“it’s not possible to make the best sci fi movie”
“no, it’s necessary” - Nolan
The best sci-fi film was already made in late 60s
@@PolishGod1234 2001 is the gateway to the soul but Interstellar is the gateway to the heart
@@loomingmoon4682 2001 is the gateway to the soul and the mind. Interstellar is phenomenal, but 2001 will forever be a more complex and human film experience.
@@maxgeorge1463 To be honest I watched 2001 a space odyssey and read all the books as well with the film actually being first, and I can safely say that the 2001 a space odyssey book is miles better than the movie. I feel that it's pretty much a status quo that 2001 a space odyssey must be the best sci-fi film ever made and a masterpiece in every regard. Upon my first viewing of 2001, I was definitely left with a strong impression, but the more I thought about it and upon trying to rewatch it, it just felt empty. And after I read the book which is an absolute work of genius my whole experience with the movie crumbled to dust. I feel like the movie is so lost in its grandeur of painstakingly long scenes of ships floating and beautiful space scenery and revolutionary special effects that it kind of forgets to tell a story. There is an eerie vibe to 2001, but not in a good way and rewatching it was an absolute chore with all the overly dragged scenes. Meanwhile I have watched Interstellar 7 times and I can still get a great level of enjoyment and emotion every time I do. It feels so much more grounded in human emotion and tells a beautiful, heartbreaking but hopeful story about love being able to cross the boundaries of time and space. It doesn't get lost in its cosmic wonder and never goes off track with its story, and it all culminates in the most memorable ending to me that makes me shed tears every time. I honestly can't even compare the two movies. I don't feel like 2001 is a story as much as it is a revolutionary but mostly experimental project, or what feels like one.
tenet is the best sci fi movie
This movie single-handedly inspired me to be a physicist and motivated me to work hard on math (which I used to be not so good at). 8 years since then and that childhood curiousity instilled in me still hasn't worn off. Now in my second year of university studying physics and I'm considering specializing in gravitational physics!
Thank you Christopher Nolan! You're truly an inspiration.
I wish you the best. Stick it through and chase your dream! You are almost there. My biggest regret in life is not finishing school.

I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who was so profoundly moved by this movie. There has never ever been another movie that gave me the extreme emotional experience I got from watching this. It was such a range of emotions...from the creepiness and loneliness of being in deep space so far from home, to the completely alien nature of black holes, to the human emotion intertwined with hard scientific theories like general relativity. This is the best movie I’ve ever seen, and I’ve watched it start to finish at least 20 times.

Put perfectly!
This film has made me both fall in love and cower away at the thought of space. It is so profound and epic. As you begin to grasp the idea and that none of this is impossible, it just blows my mind.
@@greeves2926 yes! The scene where Cooper falls through the event horizon there’s a shot where the camera is attached to the Ranger looking backwards, and you can see the universe behind him disappearing as he goes down the throat of this monster. A silly concoction of half baked theories and cheap fiction.
It was a hot summer day in 2021. Everyone decided to go to the beach however I wanted to do something different. I saw that my local cinema started to play older legendary movies like Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and... Interstellar, which at that point I had never heard off. I was like: I like space so you know what, let's go to it! The moment I walked in that movie theatre it already felt special, just walking in from 40 degrees outside to a nice cold cinema and already that ambience sound playing in the room. I walked into the cinema hall and saw that there was one other person sitting there. An older guy from around the 50. He told me before the movie that he already watched it around 15 times and that he was really happy that he could relive it in the cinema's just like 2014. I had 0 expectations for this movie, because I had never heard of it before. I hadn't even watched the trailer, I was like you know if it's really bad I'll just walk outside and go to the pool 1 kilometer away from there. Then the movie started, I was stunned. I am 100% sure that you can't experience this movie then same when you watch it at home on a cheap tv. For the whole movie it just felt amazing and what a watch this is! When the movie ended me and the older man just had a look at eachother and we knew exactly what we both meant. To this day it is still one of the most unique experiences in my life and I just wished that cinema's did this more not only because of covid, but because it's just a special experience. Will this comment get lost in here? Probably. Do I sound pathetic after typing all of this? Probably, but I don't mind. I just wanted to share my experience and I hope y'all can have this same experience once! ✨
You don’t sound pathetic at all, its an wonderfull story. Thanks for sharing
I'm jealous of you. I want to completely forget about this movie and watch in IMAX again...

These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we’ve just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we’ve barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

I started studying art and cinema this year. It teached me how to really look at a moovie and now, i can see the complexity of each scene. Nolan knows how to bring signification with his camera settings and with the composition of the shots. Many scenes are made for a crush effect with the spectator. The look doesn't get lost and the music fits perfectly with the grandiosity of the shots.

@Kevin Juncal You mean Interstellar?
I walked out of the IMAX theatre speechless. Interstellar, to me, deserves its own category. It’s not just a “sci-fi movie”, or merely another “space film”, it’s an experience. Everything, the acting, the storytelling, the practical effects, the design of the props, the cinematography, and of course the brilliant soundtrack, worked incredibly well together. I was shook to the core for at least a month after seeing the movie, rewatching clips of it, listening to Hans Zimmer’s outstanding OST, and just being fascinated by space. Christopher Nolan is a genius, this film is my absolute all time favorite modern movie.
Ikr its a fucking masterpiece
Man i wish I would've watched this movie when it originally came out. I regret not watching it then because now I can't stop watching it
What about calling the genre:

I was also so speechless. I felt like I was having an OBE walking out of the theatre. During the car ride home suddenly I felt all these emotions and I sobbed and honestly I don’t even know why but I just knew that it was going to be my favourite movie for the rest of my life!
It is not very practical though. They didn't get spaghettified upon reaching the black hole and lot other physics bending things. But the the movie itself was outstanding. The music had me sobbing in the theatre and I was thankful for the darkness as I would have been embarrassed for being teary eyed.
this movie made me cry not out of sadness, but because of how fascinating they portrayed our universe and how little we know of it
This movie is so powerful. I cried everytime I watched it.

Anyone who calls Interstellar overrated is probably one of those people who can't sit through a film that doesn't have cheesy one liners, clichéd plots and pointless, uncoordinated action scenes in the first three seconds. Interstellar is a film that opens up your mind, literally! First time I watched it I spent 4 good hours after the movie thinking about how irrelevant humanity is in the grand scheme of things. We are but a speck of dust in the universe as a whole. If I have kids, they'll definitely watch it
not even a spec of dust were like the smallest particle known to man@@EISEN70
I sometimes divide movies in 2 categories. The first is for movies with such deep meaning and maybe incredible visuals or acting. They might not touch us emotionally but they represent the greatness of films(movies like "The Master"). The second category is for movies that just manipulate our feelings. Their plot might sometimes weak but nonetheless they have a deep impact in us. Interstellar is one of the few exceptions where a movie belongs to both of these categories. A movie that has a production, visuals, plot, action sequences, acting and soundtrack so amazing that it shows how far and how deep cinema can go, and at the same time give you depression for a couple of weeks and you can't stop thinking about it all day because it made you feel something you've never felt before

@@rjn1749 ... "Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night".
Now u can feel the importance of soundtrack in a movie
this movie is one of the best movies in its own field
I watched this movie in theaters not knowing anything going into it. I remember be absolutely shocked to the core when they returned from millers planet. I realize in hindsight that millers planet is nerve-wracking, but first time watching it there is minimal context of consequence. The movie was nearly considered a "slow burn" then SUDDENLY: "message span 23 years" and Coop is watching his kids not only grow up, but forget about him. I was nearly sick. That scene will still always get me.
Finally, my Interstellar stans are here lol. This is my favorite movie (in general) of all time. I know there are cases to be made for others but this is just my favorite for a variety of reasons. I hope you all are doing well.
Same bro
Haha oh we’re here mate, I love how many of us there actually is. It’s the greatest movie of all time.
Who do you think you are
My favorite movie of all time. Always. Love. A fellow Interstellar stan.
Ah, fellow Interstellar fans, how rare
This needs to be re-released so I can see it in IMAX again.
I watched this film on one of those screens that curve fully around you in cinema like those huge wide screen curvy wall type things, 4K and it was the midnight feel since it was 2AM at the time, everyone in blankets with their own headphones giving you the immersive feel, the sounds were layered separate by the cinema, it was unbelievable. Interstellar has to be the most godly feeling movies of all time, it made me want to explore space and see something like this out there. It gives you the horrible feeling of reaching for something you can't grab.
Best movie of my lifetime.
Cooper's crying scene made me cry with happiness and sadness at the same time.
how did it make you happy
@@maya-ci2py his son was growing up, in a few minutes he saw him talk about graduating, then meeting a girl, him marrying her, having his grandkid... That's a lot to be proud of for a father, and you can't help but be happy from that, albeit utterly destroyed that you didn't get to experience it... The fact that all that had happened in the span of a couple hours for Coop just makes your brain short circuit trying to understand it, seeing firsthand the effect of time dilation caused by relativity.
No film has ever moved and inspired me as much as this. And I doubt one ever will. This film is a work of art, a masterpiece. The score is beyond a incredible. I can listen to it and when t takes me right back to the very moment in the film corresponding to the piece of music. I love this film so much. Can’t wait for my children to be old enough to show them.

This and shawshank redemption absolutely goated. Fucc godfather overrated dogshite movie
How old?
interstellar is literally the movie every space nerd needed , love and time and space , gosh such a great movie !!
Best movie of all time
Every fucking single moment on this movie it’s masterpiece
Beauty of Interstellar is Impossible
Editor : No its Necessity
Pralay Gaikwad necessary *
Intrinsity he actually meant it’s a necessity, please don’t spell check people if you don’t actually know what their saying
Arctic Boi „necessary“ is what is ment here, it is a quote from this movie. „Necessity“ may be grammatically correct but not in the proper context here.
E.C. Listening but you can also put a in front of it and it can be necessity
@@arcticboi7446 you can put anything anywhere... it is a quote from that movie and... a quote is a quote, you take it as it is. If you change it or move it around it is no longer a quote. Have you seen the movie at all...
The first time I watched this was when I went to early for work 3 hours. And then I started to watch this masterpiece in the break room. Man I wished I watched it on cinema.
All the exterior IMAX scenes was seriously breathtaking and immersive. Very unfortunately i didn't watch it in a theater but, even in my modest 20" monitor, these IMAX scenes was impactful. The Gargantua was massively beautiful and frightening. Another masterpiece from Master Nolan.
By far the most stunning movie I’ve watched so far. The Story, the effects, the music, everything works together so well to create an absolute masterpiece.
My favorite film score of all time. Hans zimmer is a god.
Theres this song that just changed my life forever. Its not like other songs, its not pop, rock, punk, none of those. i dont know how to explain what it feels to be listening to it. Its just a endless loop, it never ends it makes you cry, anger, depression, but its not ment to. It just does. While you may think this is just a regular song and you may ask why i am so big about it. Its just reminds me of my past. And my future, you will know what i mean when someonething happens when you realize everything isnt easy, and we wont be here forever. we are so lucky to be here. Its been a million years since we were created. And i ask, why arent we on mars yet? We are just staying here in this planet. Under the atmosphere. Nobody wanting to go farther. Just staying here. Waiting for death while the sun devours us in 7 billion years. We should be farther into our galaxy. Maybe even farther into our universe. I know, we do have NASA & SpaceX, Rosmoscomos, blue orgin. ETC. but thats just 1% of us. We need to work together, We need to be willing to explore more. Not just the sea, Not just our planet, not just our solar system, nor star nor galaxy, but our universe. We need to go father than ever before. More than anyone has ever explored. We are willing to land on other bodies of solid rock, or even dust. We need to explore more before we fade away, or are we? Thats why i want everyone to help. So we can make that 1%, to a 100%. We are not the only living beings. We could be stuck in a 3D altered dimension controled by other beings. To prove that, we need to reach out of our solar system, out of our galaxy, out of our universe. And explore whats beyond. Listen, and you’ll see what i mean maybe. And lets explore more, remember do not go gentle into that good night. Its day one of exploring more.
So glad that I'm not the only one to be deeply inspired by the movie.
This film touched my heart the most
The reason u r born on this planet is to find things you dont know, to reach things you dream of, u cant fulfill the emptiness of space within or outside you. There is no limit, its infinite.. v humans should realize it.. that universe is beyond our reach, let's find the unknown..
the visuals and music of this movie terrifies me in a soothing way.
My absolute favorite film. Already watched at least 127 times and could never get enough of it!
I cryed the entire movie. Love it.
Why is one of the best sci fi movies ever?? because the realism.
Every time I see this, either i cry or i get goosebumps or both
