That is so true. Depth on the interior cannot be understated and not only are the hawks not getting everything Murphy brings but now Hankins and the other DTs are playing tired too. Hopeful he’ll be back soon!
Outstanding video. Helps me understand a lot more about the Seattle defense that has been really bothering me over the last well, this entire year. Much appreciated. Keep it coming There is also been a lot of discussion about the value that decay brings her does not bring to the team right now. It shows that he has a terrible lack of leadership and seems very immature on the field in general. Poor route running, leading to interceptions, unnecessary penalties, and so on and so on. I would sure like to see a video that discussed the points for and against keeping him on the team based on his performance and based on what he costs the Seahawks.
Thank you! As for your thoughts on DK, yeah he’s a frustrating player. On one hand, he is highly productive and one of the most dangerous receivers in the NFL but you’re right he is really inconsistent. It has always seemed like a conversation of “if he can put it all together” and I don’t know if that’s going to happen. This offseason will be interesting cause I could see him getting extended or traded pretty easily. The 49ers game was one of his worst so I don’t want to overreact but we’ll see how he bounces back
@@The_Legion_of_12s again, Monn video you produce there. I can’t tell you how much value that had to me as a thinking guy and an avid Seahawk fan. Although I do have an opinion on DK, main point was that he is currently becoming a big talking point amongst the Seahawk fan base. I think you might get a lot of traction on an unbiased video on that topic that talks about the pros and cons of DK. There is a good amount of valid information on both sides and I think the video would be super interesting , all the best
I watched the explosives against the Niners and was surprised to find out that the light box is not the issue. Twice I've seen Jenkins coming into the picture way late and taking terrible angles. Other times the LBs took themselves out of the play instead of sticking to the obvious run lanes. Also, dont come out with Morris, Young and other PQ bodies - they'll get bullied.
100%. Light boxes certainly reduce your margin of error but if you're missing angles and assignments you're going to let explosives go no matter your run fit scheme.
Thank you! I’m probably going to see how the next couple of weeks play out and then yes it might have to do one for the offense. I’m kinda hoping I can make one on how they fixed it instead of what’s wrong 😂 thanks for watching!
Nice video. The bust at 7:30 would be on the weak hook I think, Baker, not Jenkins, the weak c/f. Unless they're playing the adjustment where they trade the hook and flat depending on back release, but I don't believe Macdonald does that, could be wrong.
It’s possible for sure. Depends on the rules they’re using and I’ve seen it both ways. To me at least it doesn’t look like they’re really getting to traditional spot drop landmarks. Again totally guessing here but I’d say it’s Dodson and Jenkins in the hooks and Baker on the RB. To me at least it does look like Baker is more reading the RB and just zoning off to space when he’s blocking. Could be wrong tho but that’d be my guess. Thanks for watching and for your really insightful comment!
It's a brand new system, they gotta learn. Wouldn't be shocked if they still aren't playing to their full potential by the end of the year. But I'm calling it now, Seattle will have a top 5 defense in 2025
For sure. I think a lot of hawks fans are panicking right now because the defense isn't playing well but the issues aren't on the scheme - its just the execution. I agree that the hawks defense is going to be elite in 2025 - but maybe even sooner depending on how quickly they can clean some of this stuff up.
Yes he is. Where are the Carroll haters now it's gonna take us 2 years to get 9 wins. Our defense is supposedly better this year but we lost 3 games by 2 plus scores a rarity in Pete's day and are 25th in scoring defense and we gave up 3pts to Miami's horrid offense. Mac thought it was a good idea to single cover Kelce. Even with Hamilton that's a mismatch. You double Kelce and you double Kittle and make someone else beat you. Firing Pete was a mistake.
In run defense, yes. There's really no one better. HOF at the peak of his powers last year against the run. But as a coverage player, last year it was pretty rough. I totally get moving on from him because he was such a liability in coverage but he was a phenomenal run defender.
I get where you’re coming from with everything you’ve said here, but I think the solution is just time. This scheme is still proving to do great stuff and the players are making plays. It is just the inexperience and lack of consistency that is ruining an otherwise pretty good defense. If we’re still seeing the same problems in a couple of years then I’m with you. But 6 games in you kind of expect some of these mistakes. I’m not panicking yet at all, this is just how these things usually go and I think by the end of the year this defense will be much better.
Remember when Pete Carroll helped develop 5th round Richard Sherman into the most complete cornerback the league has ever seen. How about Kam Chancellor a 4th round pick that people said was too slow. He helped him become the most feared safety arguably in league history and Michael Bennett was undrafted and Carroll found Brandon Browner sleeping in his car in Canada. Riq Woolen was a 5th rounder and how many 3rd round rookie quarterbacks get to start and are successful? I could keep going and going. Everyone in the NFL can play it's the coaching that makes the biggest difference. Firing Pete was a mistake.
I think we underestimated how valuable byron murphy is to our defense
That is so true. Depth on the interior cannot be understated and not only are the hawks not getting everything Murphy brings but now Hankins and the other DTs are playing tired too. Hopeful he’ll be back soon!
I agree him and Leonard makes guys have to double which opens up the linebackers to make plays
Wow, excellent analysis and extremely easy to follow. Good work! Go Hawks!
Thank you!!!
Great video man! Been looking for a new youtuber to follow seahawks info with, and i loved your editing and narration. Interested in your next videos!
Thank you!!!
Love the breakdown. Greatly appreciated!
Seaside Joe sent me here. Great video. Subscribed.

Thank you so much! That’s a great video idea! He’s definitely a decisive player so that’s on my list for towards the end of the year.
someone give me 5 bucks a month i need to get on this patreon trust

Great analysis, thank you! I am sure the Hawks will improve, they just need time and maybe a few new pieces next year to make the leap forward.
Thank you! I totally agree this team is getting close. More experience and a couple more pieces could make this team really good.
Wow what's a breakdown. Subscribed
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Very insightful about the defense. Can you do one on issue on offense
Thank you! I’m probably going to see how the next couple of weeks play out and then yes it might have to do one for the offense. I’m kinda hoping I can make one on how they fixed it instead of what’s wrong 😂 thanks for watching!
It’s clear we throwing way too much that’s an OC problem
Nice video man
Appreciate it!
The goat came back 😌😌

Agree with all said on this video as it would take time and Mike going to fix this defense in no time 😤

I don't CARE what Little Mac has to say. he is a rookie head coach in over his head.
Yes he is. Where are the Carroll haters now it's gonna take us 2 years to get 9 wins. Two dummies
Life without Bobby Wagner at linebacker is tough. He always had great positioning.
In run defense, yes. There's really no one better. HOF at the peak of his powers last year against the run. But as a coverage player, last year it was pretty rough. I totally get moving on from him because he was such a liability in coverage but he was a phenomenal run defender.
As a Rams fan, it could be worse. It could be the Rams defense. 😢
Yeah. It really shows how great AD was that the rams had a decent-ish defense. Nice to see a rams fan here!
@@The_Legion_of_12s Your content is good football. Yeah, AD looks even better now.
We better regroup on both sides of the ball losing 3 games in a row is so disappointing.😭
It might end up being 5 in a row with Atlanta and Buffalo next.
They had a WHOLE offseason and it didn't happen...
“We’re fitting the run really well” so no one watched the patriots game?
Our players are MEDIOCRE! THAT'S the PROBLEM!!!

In OTHER words, BAD COACHING! How about our INCOMPETENT OWNER SELL the TEAM like her brother wanted in his WILL????
If you are able to dissect this, why can’t the professionals see this ?
they can
MacDonald is a TERRIBLE coach!
Babahahahahhahahahaah ok pal
You identify the problem, then offer EXCUSES! PHOOEY!
