Hi! I have columbine coming up now....that dark purple single row plant....can you/have you pressed that open-face? I think those are the type I have (they are just now budding....I’m in Michigan). I have pressed the bleeding heart....on stem in a row and they have faded some but still gorgeous. I also have pressed flowers from my Quince Bush....they are a beautiful coral color and have held so far. I’m trying myrtle flowers, forget-me-nots, ornamental pear blossoms (they are pressing quite well) and now lily of the valley and one of my orchid blossoms. It is so much fun to do! Thanks for all your tips here! 💜🦋❤️🌻

Hi Cindy, nice to hear about what you are, or have, pressed. Lots of things growing now that press nicely. In regard to the columbine, I mostly press in profile unless they look like they would do well open faced as noted in the video - which is not too many of them. They are beautiful in any event:-) Thank you for watching, Em

Many thanks for your both beautiful and informative videos! :) There is an issue I've been pondering: have you ever encountered a problem while drying pansy blossoms. Sometimes one or two petals just SHRINK down, it is so weird. I start with a normal proportionate blossom and end up with a disproportional one. Has this ever happened to you? Do you have any insight on why this could be happening? Unfortunately I think it's not possible to attach a photo here in comments, but I hope my explanation would be sufficient. Thank you in advance!

Hi Agne, the things that come to mind are: A) not enough weight making it press uneven or B) how they are placed on the page - for example facing up or down. If pressing one way try the other and see if that helps. C) Sometimes they just distort for whatever reason.
If they are nice and flat but just not proportional, sometimes you can trim a few of the parts/bits to make it look more uniform. Thanks for watching:-)
