    I am a big fan of the Japanese pair so I was disappointed when they lost. I have seen the third game about 5 times (more than 5 times at some points). And I have to admit that my idols were trying their best, getting 6 points from 13-18 to 19-18. My most impressive moment of the match was when the two male players of both pairs changed their rackets. I can see how Yuta believed in Arisa-his partner when he moved to the front course. What a superb match to watch! As the commentator said, Arisa is brilliant!

    Another wonderful match!!
    It's too difficult for Yuta to score against Sapsiree. Arisa isn't as bad as people keep blaming her. Shout out for these two ladies standing on their feet against the two talented guys.

      You're right, but on the other hand, Watanabe has one of the best smashes in the world for someone of his size. The slow shuttles, plus some fatigue, worked against him.

      This thumbnail isn’t obvious, it could just be an end of point pic, but yes many the last number of months have been very clearly showing the winner which does spoil the match for the viewer. Personally I think the thumbnails should all be plays from the match or from the pre-match, that way there can never be spoilers.

    Higashino gotta up here defensive game. She’s been stuck at the same level of defence for about 3 years now. Yuta’s prime years will be wasted if she doesn’t improve. Maybe you’d settle for giving away points in the male smashing straight to female scenario, but she’s losing way too many cross court smashes and drives. Lost the final game 27-25, imagine if half of higashino’s lost points to cross court smashes and drives were converted 😵‍💫
    My opinion is he needs to change partners or get involved with MD if he doesn’t want to waste his best years.

    • @inghell
      @inghell 9 месяцев назад +13

      Higashino is a beast of a player. She was on fire in the Malaysia Open. I don’t know how you can say that she’s not good enough when they’re ranked 2 in the world. Calm yourself down armchair critic.

    • @jnxs1234
      @jnxs1234 9 месяцев назад

      @@inghell so you really believe higashino hasn’t hit her ceiling ? I hope you’re right. Because it’s been almost 4 years and every opponents first option for attack is a cross court smash to higashino 😂. I’d like to see how brave dechapol is with his cross court smashing to Huang Dong Ping or Huang Ya Shiong.
      You call me an armchair critic. But I’d like to see you back up your claim that higashino’s defence isn’t a problem with some stats. I’ll give her props for a good front court game, good movement (her aggressive moment is arguably the best) and decent presence at the backcourt when she is pinned to the back. But in the top 10 she easily has the worst defence.
      Just count how many points were lost to a cross court smash or cross court drive this game, then get back to me 👍.
      You’re just going to accept the fact that watanabe can be world number 1 but hasn’t come close to becoming world number one? Watanabe had to work on his smash which is now decent and has gained enough respect from opponents. Higashino’s defence has not improved and opponents just abuse her 🥲. How can you become world number 1 like that? Tell me I’m wrong. They’re so close, but they can’t break through.

    • @inghell
      @inghell 9 месяцев назад +5

      @@jnxs1234Ok then find me another elite Japanese player that can play loads better than Higashino and beat Zheng and Huang? It's crazy that you think it is just an easy swap and you'll just magically find elite players like that. I don't think she played her best today but it's absurd to say she's not good enough.
