Metro Colon gained a large following in Cebu despite being in the toughest retail arena at the time.
After two years, a three-story building was upgraded to a seven-story department store and supermarket.

Took me a long time to find a job but when I finally had one, working for the government, I moved out of my parents house. My income mostly went to room rent and food, the very little extra I had I'd spent mostly here at Metro! 😀 A few new pairs of pants, and on another payday I bought my first game console --- Nintendo was just starting out then and I had the first version of Mario, and a game cartridge that had about a hundred games which included Galaga, Motorcross and Battle Tank. I gave this to my nephews and nieces. A nephew became so intrigued by the games he took computer science when he got to college. I remember going to that electronics section on the third floor and getting that Nintendo. Incredible how they have kept themselves very competitive all these years. Thanks for the video, it brings back all those wonderful years.
