Hate didn't do that well, so, CUBE felt like 4MINUTE didn't earn any money to the company. When they wanted to renew, CUBE didn't let them, only HyunA. Because HyunA is more popular than 4MINUTE. This is based on comments that I've read. And from articles from Allkpop
Maybe if Cube had made a real effort to market the girls, they would have made a lot of money for Act 7. Its a freakin' great album. Hate was awesome. Canvas was glorious. The rest of the album was just ... right. BUT ... it needed the right marketing to get sales - especially sales OUTSIDE Korea which is where 4minute is more popular anyway ... which seems to be something that Cube has zero interest in doing.

They have so much potential to shine.
