When I was watching that mirror scene for the first time with headphones on not to disturb my husband - who could not care less for Supernatural - with the sound of the episode, he stopped me to say 'that is powerful acting right there'. I agree wholeheartedly.
The montage of seeing Dean being so happy at the end is a joy but so heart breaking at the same time. Mirror scene is just heartbreaking!! If this scene had not been in a genre show or on the CW Jensen would have won or at the very least been nominated for an award. Alzheimer's charities should consider using this clip in there PR.
After I saw this episode with her talk with Dean and the notes she left for Dean I was irredeemably and completely in love with Rowena. What a great character she is. And Jensen's acting in this episode was phenomenal. He's bringing the whole range of funny to heartbreaking and transitions between them without making it feel forced by the script.
About Jensen's acting, in that bathroom scene especially, it was undoubtedly phenomenal but the thing that broke my heart further was when- at a convention (do correct me if I'm wrong here) but he said what his thoughts going into or after was tapping into the feeling of, "I know I can do this, I feel like I can do this and the words- in this case- are something that, feel familiar but I can ALMOST reach them" (that word right there is crushing, at least to me). Also, what you said of Dean forgetting himself before his brother and probably any of the following people he cared for- honestly, I can't imagine what those people that also care for Dean (even if he doesn't feel worthy of it...unfortunately) their reaction, as can be seen by Sam in this episode, would be immensely heartbreaking cause even after everything (and this is why I, personally, took A point away from Rowena this episode...i still adore her) he would label himself a "killer" or a "tool" that has to follow a mission to save people, hunt things...and no, that's not who he is- not before so many, so many beautiful traits... but I digress. So yes, this episode- amazing overall with the variety that it presented and was executed with such connection to the story and the characters- but again...i didn't want any of them to go through the pain of losing someone they love- especially when they can almost see their true self...only for that to be taken away, slowly (yes, yes...i did just hurt myself typing that as one does...watching this show). I love your reactions and they're definitely a highlight of my week so just- thank you.
The fact that you picked up during the montage that it captured Dean smiling completely passed me by, such an observation and insight. you are truly remarkable. I find you and Seeskasays reactions and critics of the show thoughtful and insightful.
This season puts a huge emphasis on how much they’ve been through in their lives. You forget just how much has happened, so it’s good they used the whole season to remind us.
My grandparent passed away from alzheimer's so seeing that bathroom scene That hit me hard, Jensen nailed it because I have seen that 1st hand, Happy note that Halloween Candy scene is priceless Great reaction as Always Dakara Carry On👍
Jensen's reaction was incredible in this episode, my grandma suffered from Alzahimer before she passed away so this episode hits close to home, it's very well done. That last scene dean was too happy riding Larry 👀, ride 'em cowboy, in all seriousness I loved this episode, rowena coming to sam's aid, trying to save him from the witches 🥺, sam & rowena have such good chemistry, also the height difference is so cute 😍. Great reaction dakara 👏
The mirror scene where dean is reminding himself who he is was the last shot filmed for this episode and where Ruth (Rowena) boops Dean's nose that was an improv by Ruth which caught Jensen off guard
For a funny and lighter note: the post-it scene, when Sam put it on the lamp, was unscripted (if i remember correctly) and Jared continued to put post-it on everything (even on himself) to annoy Jensen. Cheers from Italy.
great weekender treat of a reaction of an ep that I'd forgotten (no pun intended lol ) about... and you were right that it was a great and fun performance by JA seeing the happiness as he slowly forgot about the pain, horror, et al that they've experienced/had to do for the greater good but then embrace in the end that it was worth it... and to get the end bits including the bull riding and some Dakara thirst for the JA smile gets you 2 CTU's from me today! keep em coming, D!
When I first saw the shower scene, it got me so bad. Crying and all , because my mom had just passed a few months prior from Alzheimer's related medical stuff, so that scene got me bad
"That joke was Cruel" Yes, literally, I rememeber I got so upset with it the first time, It hurt tbh xD. I was like "How efing dare you joke like that!?" >:'0
This is the only episode that has made me cry (so far). The show portrayed that spell scary close to how horrible Alzheimers actually are, that mirror scene...ouch.
dean trying to remember his name is one of Jensen best acting moments

This episode has the most sad and the most funny moments. It's incredible. And Jensen's acting is beyond anything.
The little "Happy Dean" montage in the end is so precious. I could watch it over and over again. ❤️

Loved this episode Dean even did the dakara cheeky thumbs up 😀
Yaaassssss 👍 he’s on board haha
Next episode is one of my favorites. Can't wait!
I've been waiting for your reaction to this one for Sooooo long! The mirror scene absolutely broke me

I really screamed when I saw that you had uploaded the video. (laughs)
2:29 My heart is broken and everything hurts
I no i no 😭
3:47 Jensen 👏👏👏👏
this was a great non-plot ep. one of the best.
It would be so heartwarming if Cas was there and heard Dean mentioning over and over that they are best friends. I cried so much this episode XD

Sam blew it. The witches spell on the tree he should of taken a pic of to send to Rowena.
What would that have done
Love rowena this is the episode that I really started to like her glad the writers didn't get rid of her like they did with bella ruby and Anna 🥰😇👍
Where’s the supernatural reaction vid today
Just posted it :)
