My mom bought a brand new 2.4 manual in December 2008, which she gave to me in late-2014, which I gave to my dad the following year. He’s just about to cross 200k. It’s been shockingly reliable. I don’t know if we got a good one or what, but it’s just needed a new window switch aside from oil changes and regular wear items.
I had one of these..Yes it feels slow, I put 160k on the 2.4 before the water pump went but it was a solid car that I drove the piss out of everyday but always started up in the morning.

Cheapest car to maintain, as long as you have a friend whos a mechanic lol, be careful dont use high mileage synthentic oil in these cars, the engine will explode. lol
The horrific wheeze of the Chrysler-Hyundai-Mitsubishi world 2.4. A perfectly running engine in a brand new Jeep Wrangler will still groan and have that high pitched wheeze, one of the slowest and worst sounding engines ever made.

my moms car has 215k. it's a 2010 2.4L. still pulls like new, and drives great. imo, this is the best generation.

I drove a 2.4 before the throttle response is instant specially in sport mode can't Imagine how it is in the v6

I like 2012-2014 sonata/Optima though the 2.4l I4 only has 200hp it still pulls very nicely when you need to go
