Old news, of course, but undeniably true. The absolute best decade of latter half of the 20th century and beyond, especially for those of us in mid-teens to mid-twenties. In general, a time of peace and prosperity and a refreshing reboot from the disappointing 70s. Trends and fashion styles-most notably Ivy League rebranded as prep-were great and the output from the contemporary performing arts complex was the best it has ever been. What a time.
Back in elementary school, my art teacher would play Enya while we painted. Sadly, I have forgotten her name with time, but I thank her for playing it.
Ironically, I was serving in the US Navy when this came out in 1989. That year, we spent over ten months at sea in training and two deployments! When we returned to our homeport that November, I was done. I left the service, and never looked back. 35 years later, I want to sail away again, but this time to a place I won't have to leave. Ever! I don't know where that is. I'm just FED UP with all the corruption in the world. There is nothing "civilized" about the world today!!!

This was the very first song of hers that I heard and I actually called the radio station to find out who she was. She is just amazing and her singing is ethereal.
I first heard this song when I was about 7. Back then we would pile into the station wagon to go visit Grandma and Grandpa, a 10-hour trip. Since we were little, my parents would split the trip into two days - leave in the evening, get a hotel room part way, finish the drive in the morning. I had the wayback in this huge station wagon all to myself because my brothers would get carsick facing backwards. I remember rolling down the dark highway, curling up on the seat and falling asleep, hearing this song playing softly on the car speakers.....and thinking, what a great song and what a shame it was that it was on the radio so we couldn't just listen whenever we wanted. (Not being aware at the time that my parents had bought the cassette!) Ever since that first time hearing it, I've loved it maybe more than any other piece of music ever written. Sometimes it's hard to pin down a favorite song, because there are songs for every occasion, but I always come back to Orinoco Flow.
Absolutely beautiful rendition of a completely different genre in a league of it's own, a timeless masterpiece that gives me the feeling of something bigger and greater out there, I first heard this as a child in a Crystal light commercial and finally found it today at 40 years old!

this is the call for humanity to awaken, these words will make sense soon. This is song is our guide where we go all. Its a place called home. Can you feel the Orinoco, can you hear its call? this is the message give to us from a long time ago.
I vividly remember the occasion the first time I heard this gem and also the first time I saw the clip 1985 on a neatherlandian tv show (formule one) as a 13yo boy addicted to fantasy literature. Left me me jaw dropped open mouthed, it felt like a portal to another world. Got the vinyl album as xmas gift the same year.
Watching this video on TOTP'88 last night. I forgot how good the song and visuals were..I mind this at number one all those years ago. It was something different and quite welcome..I got the album tucked away on tape somewhere in my archives.
I remember watching this video on TV with my mom. It just made it to the number one spot in the charts. Based upon this I can now say that is a memory from december 1988. I was a toddler..

You bet. Got the Paint The Sky With Stars C D.
One of my favourite songs of all time XXX
Watching this video on TOTP'88 last night. I forgot how good the song and visuals were..I mind this at number one all those years ago. It was something different and quite welcome..I got the album tucked away on tape somewhere in my archives.
I am here because of living with yourself, this song is incredible. Thanks Netflix
Enya produces fantastic lyrical imagery through her driving sound
Do you have any idea how long I've been searching for this song!!! 15 years!
wow!!
This is overwhelmingly perfect! Both the video and the music. The same year I sailed on the Tasman Sea.
Un gran clasico para lo que savemos escuchar esta gran melodia interpretado por enya
The most beautiful music video ever made
I remember watching this video on TV with my mom. It just made it to the number one spot in the charts. Based upon this I can now say that is a memory from december 1988. I was a toddler..
Released in the year I was born.
So glad I was still young enough to have Enya influence my life
Lyric
Let me sail, let me sail
航海しよう、航海しよう
Let the Orinoco flow
オリノコの流れるままに
Let me reach, let me beach
届かせて、海岸まで
On the shores of Tripoli
名高いトリポリの岸辺へ
Let me sail, let me sail
航海しよう、航海しよう
Let me crash upon your shore
あなたの岸辺でひと休み
Let me reach, let me beach
届かせて、海岸まで
Far beyond the Yellow Sea
黄河よりも遥か遠く
Sail away, sail away, sail away
出航、出航、出航
From Bissau to Palau
ビサウからパラオ
In the shade of Avalon
ぼんやり見えるアヴァロン
From Fiji to Tiree
フィジーからタイリー
And the Isles of Ebony
そしてエボニーの島々
From Peru to Cebu
ペルーからセブ

Adieu
どこまでも

From the deep Sea of Clouds
果てしない雲海から
To the Island of the Moon

Precisamos ser promotores da paz nesse mundo.
This reminds me of my mom, morning, and coffe smell in the kitchen rocking nostalgic feelings 2020 🌹
One of my favorite singers and song of all time. She is just so talented and beautiful .❤❤
Życzę wszystkim ludziom lubiącym Enye, aby magia tej muzyki wypełniała ich serca.
I remember this was playing upstairs on MTV (this was our whole life in those days!) in a bedroom in May or June of 1989 when I was in grade 12. My first real house party. I had stubbed my toe and it was bleeding and I couldn’t sense that it was painful because it was the first time in my life I had ‘too much’ to drink and I was a little confused by that.
We need Orinoco Flow 4K remaster like "a-ha - Take on Me" did, and of course repair to that 1:25 glitch.
Ohhh hell yeah, what a good idea
I readsomewhere that audio on YT is better at low resolutions.
ruclips.net/video/LTrk4X9ACtw/видео.html another official video without glitch
Because it an old TV and the old tv wifi is bad and they record in old tv
@@IvanCubby nevermind, we already have the upscaled version ruclips.net/video/LTrk4X9ACtw/видео.html
Iconic, masterpiece of a song.
