Winter traditions I did growing up: making little individual gift bags of sweets up for Halloween with my mum, making oranges with ribbon and cloves stuck in with my mum, doing the tree just me and my brother after school, roasting pumpkin seeds with my mum, going to see a pantomime, decorating the house all spooky, all of us making a dessert each for Xmas dinner, decorating the Xmas table together, every Xmas eve having a ‘disco’ after dinner with my cousins in the living room x
Elle, I feel and totally get where your coming from. Grief on losing a loved one never goes away you learn to cope with it but through your life when experiencing certain things it will hit you. It’s perfectly normal and remember no one can tell you how you feel it’s unique for everyone, if you get comfort with it then go girl embrace it for your wellbeing to help you . Today is a really hard day for me last year I started self harming, then a year ago today I had a attempt to take my life. It made me sad that you felt you had to justify visiting the medium and the experience you had. I'm a synic with things like that, I really am, but I lost my mum last month, 12 days after our wedding, and I know I wouldn't turn my nose up at an experience like you had if it meant I could feel close to her one more time. You do what you have to do to help you along in your grieving process. You never know, you might have just convinced this synical gal to say yes to an experience like that if the opportunity ever came about 😉☺️ You're not on your own girl, though it really feels like it sometimes, I know. My eldest sister past away at the end of June this year and the first thing I wanted to do was visit a medium, as I felt I needed reassurance that she was okay, happy etc, as she passed in a very traumatic way. I just needed to know she was in a place of peace and with people who will watch out for her, such as family members or friends who have already passed. Once I had visited this medium, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders and I was showered with reassurance, peace and I felt happy for her. One thing that stuck with me, is always knowing she’s watching over my family who are still here, and she’s guiding us through our lives. So when you were talking about seeing a medium to speak to your Mum, it made me very emotional as I had been through a similar experience recently. It’s a beautiful gift that people have to speak to people who have passed and it brings light to those family members who still remain here. I say ignore all of the people who will say it’s not true, it’s made up, because they are out there. But carry on seeing a medium if that’s what makes you feel close to her. You are a beautiful, strong lady and I wish you all the best🤍

hi elle christmas tradition here x every Christmas Eve my family have a chicken and leak pie and then I go and sing in the local church as chorister and then we go home and eat chocolate and say one thing that has changed in our year since last Christmas. when we were e little the tree used to be decorated by fairies and elves an done day we would come home from school or whatever and the house would be so magical. but as me and my sister got older the fairy an elves faded away but decorating is still a surprise xx ly so much

We have a tradition where every Christmas me and my brother get a new bauble with our names on them. We put them on the tree every year and can remember when we bought them and it’s just so lovely!!

What a magical experience to be able to get comfort speaking with your mum, I myself do believe and I have a lady that does reflexology but also has "the Gift" and so my mum passes messages onto me through her (she passed away 7 years ago) which brings me so much joy.. and thats all that matters! Ever since I can remember my mum has made Christmas Eve boxes. I'm a believer like you and honestly I just think she wants to you to live your best life and don't let the grief hold you back from doing something you want to do. You know she will always be watching so you don't have to worry that she's missing out ,do what makes you happy because that'll be what makes her happy too. Wish you all the best with your grief and I hope one day you can just be 100% happy when you think of her and not sad❤

Your mum is with you all the time, my husband lost his mum just two weeks ago and everyday since then he says, just a 5 minute conversation with her , hope you feel better for talking to your mum, the grief overcomes you, you have a beautiful family , she is very proud of you , thanks for sharing ❤️
Been excited to hear your experience since I saw your stories the other night on Instagram. I lost my Dad unexpectedly without being able to say goodbye in May, it was heart wrenching and I’m dreading milestones in the future, first thing I thought of when he died is he will not be able to meet my future children so I can only imagine how hard it all is for you. So glad you’ve had a positive experience, really not sure what I believe in but anything that makes the hardest thing you can go through a little easier to manage is worth it’s weight in gold. Hey sweet, i just wanted to say you believing that your mum is still around you doesn’t make you “crazy” it gives you comfort, it gives you clarity and it gives you that beautiful smile on your face that provides you with so much love. Don’t let your “what will people think” emotions run away with you because it’s not about other people it’s about you and how you feel and what gives you comfort. We have a tradition where every Christmas me and my brother get a new bauble with our names on them. We put them on the tree every year and can remember when we bought them and it’s just so lovely!!

i completely understand, my nana and grandad both passed away in 2 months and my step mum went to a spiritual night and she spoke to both of my grandparent and it totally comforted her. I think your doing so well Elle. I love you 🤍

Elle I’ve been watching you now for about a year and I very suddenly and unexpectedly lost my mum 3 months ago, the day after my wedding. I’m your age, i have a sister, I have my own house and I’m recently married and really relate to you. I want to tell you how much you talking about your grief helps me and I know so many others, it makes me feel like I’m not alone because I spend nearly every day feeling so alone. Our mums are always with us I know that for sure 💗

What a magical experience to be able to get comfort speaking with your mum, I myself do believe and I have a lady that does reflexology but also has "the Gift" and so my mum passes messages onto me through her (she passed away 7 years ago) which brings me so much joy.. and thats all that matters! I trace my grandchildren’s hands with construction paper and make Turkeys out of them each year and frame it for mommy and daddy. They bring them out every thanksgiving. So sweet.

Hi, a friend of mine told me their family had a tradition of buying a Christmas bauble every year until they leave home. It became a lovely outing each year to purchase the bauble to be placed in a special box. X

Ever since I can remember my mum has made Christmas Eve boxes. It’s a really cute idea where you put like Xmas pjs, an Xmas movie and snacks obvs for saint the snacks wouldn’t be there yet 😂 but yeah just loads of xmassy things in a Christmas Eve box that I could use like as I’ve gotten older there’s been a lush bath bomb in there as well but yeah I’ve always loved that tradition
