Aww, shucks, you're so humble, you don't need to apologize at all...🎙️🧸

No need to apologize. We all know the pronunciation only because we heard it pronounced often from radio dj's and tv shows! You are great!

I was 16 years old the first time I heard this song. My father played it on his record player. I cried like a baby and I still cry every single time I hear it.

I was 10 yrs. old when Red Sovine 1st went on the radio, and I was touched by this guys story telling ability even then.

I've been listening to Red Sovine's stories since Teddy Bear was first released on radio in 1976. Red Sovine is a master story teller who has a deep catalog. "Roses for Mama", Phantom 309" and "Little Joe" are 3 you'll enjoy. Since we are in the Christmas season another story I think you'll enjoy is "Christmas Shoes" by the group Newsong.

The conversation was on a CB, or citizens band radio. Basically works on different frequencies like a walkie talkie, only way more powerful. Truckers use them to communicate with other truckers about road conditions, cop radar trap ahead, accidents, etc.. he said breaker one nine. Translates to breaker= I’m broadcasting on channel 19. There are numerous other channels, but mostly everyone monitors 19. Then if u want a more private conversation, you’d said switch to channel 23, etc… Nice reaction Ace. You held up well, young man. Me, i’ve heard it 100 times since it came out, and i never fail to tear up..

"Giddy-Up Go" is one of my Red Sovine trucking song favorites.

It was played often, mostly on country & western radio stations. It was also around the time when CB radio's were all the rage. We all knew the trucker/cb lingo. 10-4 good buddy!

So-Vine like grapevine. This song was a hit and played on the radio back in 1972.

When we travel with our camper, we listen to the CB radio…we use it for traffic information…we noticed that the older drivers use CB but the younger ones use their phones…we saved time by changing the route and bypass the traffic jam

I always loved country like Everly Brothers who did a mix of roots country, Bluegrass then mixed in rockabilly and country rock. I also loved Ray Charles when he did country ballads like "Born to Lose," I Can't Stop Loving You, You Don't Know Me, Crying Time (Buck Owens). I think Red Sovine was really popular/active in that 1950s - 60s era. That's a guess based on the above-mentioned sons I listened to when I was 5 through 10 yrs of age with my big bro when he was15-20 yrs old! ❤ Great reaction! ❤👍

I've been listening to this song since it came out. Red Sovine has many great trucker story songs that will touch your heart or break it. Classic Country is full of recitation songs. My favorite is Donna Fargo. "That was yesterday."
They just don't do these wonderful story songs today. I miss real country music & artists like
    Red Sovine,
    Conway Twitty,
    Marty Robbins,
    Lynn Anderson,
    Loretta Lynn,
    Patsy Cline,
    George & Tammy, etc.

Our parents'd played this song for us in '70's, & given us a "trucker's CB" board game, so we played it many times, (not "board";) pretending we were truckers!

I've been looking forward to this song since his 1st reaction to a 'CB Western' song, & # of us had suggested this one, knowin' it would be best to do next!🎙️🧸

Red Sovine specialized in Trucker Songs. As others have mentioned, "Roses For Mama" "Little Joe" and "Phantom 309". "I'd also include "Daddy's Girl".
For Christmas, I'd recommend "Christmas in the Trenches" by John McCutcheon

Maybe the word you were looking for wasn't "choked up". Perhaps this song touched your heart and you got a bit misty.
