  • We often pay attention to men's shirts. Shirt fabric is perfectly ironed, does not fade and almost always looks like new. A man's shirt can be turned into a variety of outfits for women - blouses, skirts, T-shirts, sundresses, dresses, robes.
If you have an unclaimed shirt that's the right size, you've got some work to do. Once you cut off the collar and cuffs, not a trace remains of the masculine style.
See how you can give a shirt a second life and turn it into a beautiful blouse. This pattern will require additional fabric or another shirt.
The goal is to create a loose silhouette with a large collar and sleeve panels in a different color, as this is not enough.
    1. Cut off unnecessary parts - collar, cuffs along with the placket, shorten the length, rip off the pocket.
    2. If necessary, remove the width of the shirt.
    3. From a fabric of a different color, cut out wide stripes for inserts on the sleeves. Attach to the bottom.
    4. Sew side seams and sleeve seams. Hem the edge of the insert.
    5. From the fabric of the main color, we cut out strips 4 cm wide, then bend them on both edges along the long side.
This will be a drawstring for the cord; attach it 1.5 cm above the insert.
    Insert a fabric cord.
    6. Hem the blouse.
    7. I cut out the collar as I went along. I attached a sheet of paper to the mannequin (or to myself) so that it did not curl up, but lay flat on the shelves, along the shoulders and back. In this case, the bend will be deeper than in a regular collar.
    8. I tried on everything, then cut it out on fabric.
    9. I sewed the collar to the shirt and finished the open cut with bias tape. I attached the ties.
    The blouse is ready.
By following these tips, you can turn any men's shirt into a stylish and beautiful item for your wardrobe.
    All the best to you!
