It began as sort of a meta joke about the show getting syndicated after the 100th episode and the 100th episode is entirely about that. That's actually a pretty good suggestion for a future reaction, too. The intros get better with each switch up, too, tbh.

Then when it came back they changed the name of the show and did a fake-out that the general premise of the show would change to be more in line with the detective theme. Then it was just a bait-and-switch and it was just more of the same. But some fans were still mad about the name change, so they started fucking with people and changing the name each season.

It's the term used for public pools, when only adults are allowed in the pool, and kids must clear out. Aqua was chosen to mesh well with Adult Swim's water related theme name.

There is a classic movie called "The Gambler" (1974) that is specifically about someone who just keeps betting. He lies and steals from everyone he knows to keep betting. Even his bookie feels sad for him and tries to stop him from betting more. Even after he wins he keeps betting. Its a depressing movie. There's a 2014 remake as well. For bookies I suggest checking out "The Sting" (1973). Some con artists set up a fake betting operation to rob a rich guy. This movie is more fun. Lots of double crosses.
