one thing that I have found is that people are afraid of the unknown and AS is still pretty unknown , depending on where your from of course . Also AS has such a wide range in functionality (for lack of better word) that some people and therapists tend to say that people with AS shouldn't do this or that because it might or can cause this or that. I don't think that's always right people with AS are like everyone else aside of the fact that they are wired differently so why cant they do what every body else does but with modifications that better them in completing the task at hand. my son was diagnosed with AS and then they switched it to autism and he does pretty much what everyone else does and I modify , yes sometimes he may find something that he doesn't care for or that is too much even modified but ya know its the same with the average person as well. people are so used to labeling and keeping things alike in the same box (if you wanna say) and that's not right. everyone has some sort of disorder if you really look at it because we are not perfect, but denial can be a big thing! anyway basically what imsaying is it can be helpful to know that someone has a disability so you can help or understand them as an employee but the disablility is not who the person is!! sorry for this being so long :)
