HD Railfanning Pan Am Around Portland ME on 10/15/2017: WAPO w/ EMD's, PORU, POED, BFPO & Amtrak!

10/15/2017 was a very productive day railfanning Pan Am and Amtrak for about 10 hours in the Portland Maine area. WAPO with a trio of SD45 carbodies was definitely the catch of the day for me.

Holden Bergeron the speed of the engine. It wasn’t going very fast, so the engine didn’t have to work as hard.

Good shooting. It's interesting that only about 7% of all freight that comes into Maine comes via rail, with trains like these. I've sometimes wondered if the Amtrak station would have been better placed right on the mainline behind the former MEC headquarters building.
