Hi Berndl! The Meridian is a 2014 and she was equipped with the G1000 and we made an upgradtowards G100NXi. By the way: We sold the Meridian and bought a M600 in the USA which is currently under a complicated registration process in Germany. We hope to fly for the first time in mid of November. The new M600's call sign will be D-FIII ... Delta Fox dripple India :)))
I fly a meridian as well. 2008 pa46-500tp. We have the avidyne suite with two Garmin 660’s. I love the look of the g1000’s you have there. Was that installed from the beginning or did you do that after you purchased? I really would like to get away from avidyne but I have been told by avionics shops that it’s not worth the price to upgrade. And if it’s built in originally from the factory like that it has more integration into the airplane. Just seeing your opinion.
Sorry for my late response which might be useless for you meanwhille! I was blocked by RUclips from my channel without any reason. Now I was able to reactivate my channel. To your questions. Our Meridian from 2014 was originally equipped with G1000 and we upgraded to G1000NXi two years ago - we invested about 60.000 $ and it was worth it. I think you would have to spent much more as you have to fully change the instrumentaton and wiring. But maybe you could get a return on investment after you sold the plane one day. We flew several times with avidyne suite before we got the D-FLVL and we of course preferred the G1000 as it is much more like a modern airliner instrumentation ;-) BTW: We sold the Meridian meanwhile and purchased a M600SLS. We hopefully will finish the German registration process within the next weeks. D-FIII (Delta Fox dripple India) :)))
D-FLVL is a 2012 model (I believe). It was equipped with G1000 by the factory.
