    • @v_r_

      Thank you! To have them resole, you just have to find a cobbler that can do it by hand. They are a few still around in the US but you may have to ship the shoes to them depending on where you live.

    Would be interested in your thoughts on any quality or construction differences between Yearn and Vass both being handmade and around the same general price point. Good stuff as always!

    • @taiteyard3567
      @taiteyard3567 Год назад +1

      They’re both handmade, so it’s really up to you to decide your favorite designs between the brands. I personally think Yearn is miles ahead in terms of design, their lasts are much more elegant and refined, and I think they have more options too, like rubber soles, custom last, etc. Vass does have a few attractive lasts though, so it’s worth looking through both websites.

    • @jackobrien1026
      @jackobrien1026 11 месяцев назад

      I have both and Vass has amazing leathers (definitely better inner leathers) but I'm not qualified to say if Yearn's outer leathers are comparable. Besides that Yearn blows Vass out of the water for attention to detail. Vass also has a more traditional European fit and Yearn is a bit more on the Asian side for fit.

    Funny you make this video. I literally bought these shoes without seeing this video. I went with their Lazymans in a brown patina, split toe single monsktrap in A004 leather from their MTO section. I went with their double monkstraps and Artertons partnered split toe derbies.
    All of these with a topy sole protector and toe protector. Im going to overkill the soles because i walk 8-10 miles a day.
    Amazing value for money. I love their y07 last, and y08 last. Havent tried the others.
    Why am i puttung the big money in? Well honestly my shoe collection is already quite limited and the uppers on the good year welts are just crap quality. I paid on average 150 gbp for the different pairs. Ill still wear them as I love them. It was a good idea regardless since you learn how to maintain a shoe through experience.

    There is one more thing on the premium MTO, they are equipped with real leather heel stiffener’s! The RTW and MTO are celastic.

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  Год назад +1

      There’s some truth to it as you don’t want to break the line of sight but for someone your height, I’d recommend 1.25” to 1.5” cuffs and no break. No cuffs look weird to me except on tuxedos.

    Mister Vladimir, it is a pleasure to greet you and I would like to ask you a question. I saw the review of the YEARN shoe brand, by the way, beautiful shoes that you purchased. Well my question and according to your experience I am a size 29 Mexico equivalent to a US 11 true to size, could you suggest what size to order in this brand of shoes? Usually European and Asian sizes are tight sizes and my size is standard. I hope you can help me, you have a collection of incredible shoes. Thank you and best regards.

    Hi, so my first impression when look a Yearn shoes in social media is their last seem leaning toward enlongate last, but here with your shoes in last Y05, it seem much more balance. Do you feel the same? This is my biggest concern about Yearn since I'm only 5.6ft height so I want to avoid enlongate shoes.

    I really love your vids, man! Just for information: the Chinese use dog´s skin and they eat dogs. Perhaps not the case with this brand (pretty sure its not), but the whole leather industry in China is the worst in the world. Never trust them. Better stay with Northampton, Mallorca, Italy, France eg. PS! What do you think the width of the lapel should be on a roped shoulder suit jacket? I know you love the Neapolitan soft shoulder (as do I), but I also love the stronger shoulder for more formal business occasions.
    Anyway, no-one got a better intro!

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  Год назад

      Thanks for your kind words. Lapel width depends on a few factors. Personally I have a broader chest and feel like the 4” to 4.5” looks better on my frame. But I think around 3.75” looks good on almost everyone regardless of the style of the suit.

    • @perrdland7903

      @@v_r_ Thanks so much for your answer. Just got a wonderful suit from my tailor were I decided on a 4 inch lapel on a fusion between Neapolitan and British. Roped shoulders, 4 inch lapel, two bottoms, slanted pockets with a ticket pocket, barchetta chest pocket. I think it looks awesome. Anyway, I am a subscriber and avid viewer of your channel and I really appreciate your understanding and take on men’s style. Kudos!
