    "Dummies"🤣🤣 I love it!!! I am 37 and I'm currrently helping my now retired father restore and fix up his 77 Chevy blazer. Its good that you're showing the boys how stuff works because I personally have learned priceless tips from my Dad, tips you can't find in any books, and this has been a really fun truck to work on.

    Never met this man before but it's as if I already know him, never been to this neighborhood but it might as well be the one I live in in Connecticut,, I'm around the same age and he's absolutely right and I'm sure he wasn't trying to be insulting when he said the "Youth of today" because it's absolutely true ,we are from the generation that got things done, we be embarrassed to call AAA or go to a local garage ,we had to figured it out. This is just a regular guy with regular family teaching his kids stuff that he probably learned at the age of 5..lol.. great video I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, it reminds me of my own family. Your boy sure has a pristine K5 Blazer! I've always wanted a K5 Blazer and finally got one after my last Jeep Wrangler TJ was hit causing it to roll 4 times. 17k in Atlas II, lift, custom built Dana 60 axles, and was getting ready for the LS1 matter to an NV4500... Withholding the hours it took me to dial it in perfectly before the swap was to make it really scary.
    My is on 39.5's, but I've got to do some fab work in repairing the A-Pillar rot from the last joker who didn't want to replace the seals as he used it as a mud truck, but it was underpowered by that 305 which saved it from getting abused beyond neglecting the obvious! LS1 sitting and waiting for the body to come around.
    That's a sweet one! It's worth a ton of money now too...

    I have two of my sons that can not tell which way to turn an oil change bolt because of looking at it while on your back under the car. What I did was to place a larger nut and bolt inside my tool box that they can slip a socket on, then find out which way to manipulate the ratchet to get the nut off. No more stripped drain plug bolts. Good video if I could find a K5 like that one its good to know about the top.

    What do you think about line X spray on bed liner. I'm thinking about having the top sprayed black and the interior sprayed black. On my 87 blazer. Trying to strengthen it a little and give it a little more is Omar insulation.

    • @AxlesGarage
      @AxlesGarage  2 года назад +1

      The line-x will certainly add some sound deadening. Don't necessarily think it's necessary for the top.

      I believe sometime during the production run between 1973 and 1991, the DOT deemed it unsafe to operate the vehicle with the top removed. It was at that point GM's answer to the DOT and to be in compliance.... they started using the 'tamper' resistant bolts and hid the 2 bolts in the rear quarters.

      Axle's Garage thanks for the response! Still, nothing beats driving one of these or comparable models with the back off on a summer afternoon...actually, I’d say top off/doors off in a Wrangler beats it but I’m biased
