Same thing was happening with my tunnels from Farmers Friend in high winds, I added angled wind bracing and a solid center perlin and it's much better now. I was also having ropes fall off the ends of the Caterpillar tunnels when using a perlin strap.
I'm very happy to see this update on Mecko's farm. Jordbrug... I found the link to follow. Good stuff going on. I'm working on wholesale partners myself. Good to know some others are running into this. I miss the man bun 😜
Mikel if you move the chickens a little firther and have the fence mostly to the rear. Then move the fence mostly to the front. I think that might help you mitigate the damage to the field. Hope this helps.
@ 11:32 - use a clove hitch or double clove hitch. It might help keep the strap from slipping. Looks like you've just got it wrapped a few times. Great video
Thank you for creating such valuable content! You said in the video you would have "links below" for their social media, but there are no links? I guess you deleted all the old helpful info when you added the info for the new online course. Can you (or someone on your team) work on adding helpful links back to your videos? You reference tools and supplies as well as people in a lot of videos, but all that info is missing now. It's folks like you who make RUclips such a valuable learning resource (and I might have a little farm envy). Thank you for staying so committed to creating awesome content. Cheers!
I have been told that if you have black birds, Australorp, for instance, that here in the US the areal predators mistake for crows, which are "enemies" of the predators.
Those LED lights are extremely interesting. Could you give a supplier, or product identification to help with finding sources? I'm in Michigan in the USA and would love to find those lights.
How did he handle the drought this summer? I'm very curious how he and the land reacted on the wet spring and dry summer and is there a plan for the future regarding this conditions?
Try to figure out a way to put the Ridge pipe so that you do not have to drill holes cuz when you drill holes to bolt them together the greenhouse I have failed every single one of those connections because the hole through the pipe weakens the pipe and that's where it will break just wanted to share hope it helps
Agreed, drilling holes will make them collapse a lot faster. There is a whole world of options available in the camping / outdoor world that give the required result and are easy to place and replace. Basically any caravan or larger tent storm kit will provide the additional support. Either pole u-brackets or sign clamps (not sure about their proper english name) will give plenty of mounting space and protect the plastic.
Looking forward to the caterpillar tunnel trial results with the First Tunnels kit - did you buy all the rope anchors/caribiners and plastic support hooks from Farmers Friend or source elsewhere Richard? The shipping from the USA is a killer!!
Can you say where you got the greenhouse plastic from? I've been unable to find a Danish supplier and for smaller amounts shipping from the UK is prohibitively expensive. Up here in Thy we're also drowned! I had my tarps on from September in places, but it's been so wet I've had to take some off early to dry out. The ground water is so high they are keeping the beds wet rather than keeping the rain off. We're arounda month behind here with the fields and crops, it just stopped being frozen and now it is raining!
We have tried those LED lights in our germination chamber but are finding the plants get leggy, we've tried 2 rows and 3 rows of lights and even tried adjusting the height from 15cm to 60cm with not much difference. Are you finding Tomatoes and other vegetable crops getting leggy?
This solar powered fence energizer fom DeLaval seems to fit your need. it has the lighter and smaller 7amp hour battery www3.delaval.com/ImageVaultFiles/id_32408/cf_5/8-17_Solcelleapparat_ESE7BS.PDF
Richard Perkins Yes, I googled a bit around, and all enrgizers around 2Joule require a big 70-100Ah deep sycle battery. It might work to use smaller sealed led batteries and rotate between a few of those.

White chicken feathers are useful coz they look clean for use in pillows and cushions etc. Great to hear the chicken caravan is such a success. 🙂

Thank for sharing. Very interesting especially growing bed warming.

please post a link to the farm. I like the info on you tour etc. but please also be open sharing information on the people you visit and interview!
Exciting stuff! That wind makes me wonder why that pasture wasn't blocked out with hedgerows years ago.

Great video thanks! Could you please post their farm link in the comments, I’m not finding a link?

No holes, always clamps!

I'll be watching to see. Then maybe i can rebuild my greenhouse.
In a pinch make clamps from PEX tubing or similar? Will probably break down in the sun over time.

At some point o suppose you have to choose between being 100% carbon free and being profitable... hard.
