I've played MH since gen 2 and Wild Hearts is more fun than most MHs, even with my PC fans sounding like they are going to explode. The only thing that this Hunting Action is similar to MH is the gameplay loop of going to a map to fight a monster, get materials to upgrade and repeat, otherwise it doesn't play like MH and shouldn't be thought as playing MH. It's a mix between MH, Dragon's Dogma and Death Stranding's structures, the game makes you think more than just "don't get hit, hit it till it dies".
The concept of exploration and building your camps and whatnot has me intrigued, but I have to ask if I could just like "go on an expedition" so that I could just explore the map and observe the creatures or are they all aggressive like in traditional MH & even Rise/Sunbreak? My favorite aspect of world was just simply watching the monsters and even being able to get close to some that weren't immediately aggressive.
Think of the whole game as a expedition.😂 This game cuts out the meticulous things like weapon sharpness and crafting potions. It wants you to look around to find paths that would make it easier for your hunts. Given that you can place the tools you need throughout the map.
Most small kemono arent aggressive, and large kemono vary in their behavior, but from what I've experienced they get angry if you spend too much time in their line of sight. If you stay behind them or just keep your distance they wont do anything most of the time.
Karakuri are more like MH "items" then Fortnite buildings tbh. Traps, flashbangs, healing dust and all that stuff is essentially the same here. Once you get the celestial anchor karakuri you basically get wirebugs and can yeet yourself around the map. Pairs especially well with the glider. It’s by far the fastest movement in my experience.
Now wait till Fromsoft makes a monster hunting game. I bet they would pit us against literal cthullu and his God lackeys.
Such a shame the game runs so poorly, looks fun.
I never used the wirebugs in rise, I hated rise and the bugs didn't help me like rise. Rise reminded me of the handheld mh games and that is trash to me
The worst part of this game is the monsters. They all have the same set of moves
Top tip for MH vets playing Wild Hearts:
Refund your $70 because it is dogshit.
Game is actually better than base world or rise. It’s definitely able to stand side by side with monster hunter in terms of gameplay.
@@ArborusVitae Game actually isn't better. One game cannot stand side by side with MH. Trying again when it has 20 years behind it.
@@nuke2099 in terms of my personal enjoyment and the general vibes of the game? It absolutely stands up there with the recent MH entries. I’d argue it does some things better even. There are times when playing WH so far that could tell me it was the next for-hand-held MH game (like Rise) and I would believe you. It is that close to nailing the feeling and enjoyment I’ve gotten out of the MH series over the years. Something other hunting games have previously failed to accomplish.
@@ArborusVitae The only reason it can even come close is MH putting in most of the work before it.
If MH rise, which basically is just glorified boss fights, is worth 60 bucks
Then this game with more fleshed out open world stuff is definitely worth 70 bucks
Rise isn't that expensive.
Rise is 40 bucks and a way better game with more stuff, better weapons, better monsters than this Walmart MHW lmao
