I make this same walk everyday. It’s usually way more crowded. This video shows a small portion of the main downtown and Edge district where I live. Leaves out the best part. The water and new pier being constructed.
Ok so it is usually more lively then this? I'm thinking of moving to here or tampa and love being in and out about through the city.. but this just looks so dead its not even worth it, I'm not looking for NYC level but still this is disappointing
CityPedia, We LOVE your videos. They're positively beautifully shot and are the very next best thing to being there. We've watched (and "Liked") all of them, but must confess this one of gorgeous downtown St. Petersburg has become our all-time favorite. If we could be so bold, may we suggest a new similar video? To walk the sidewalk that follows the perimeter of Tampa Bay (on a sunny day), winding your way through stunning Vinoy Park (which we both adore) perhaps beginning south near the old brick restroom next to the Marina and proceeding north. We would be forever grateful. Hope you are doing well our friend. Thank you so very much. ~oO(1964)Oo~
Cool video I think you guys might like it walked around all the places that people usually don't go in Saint Pete, some of the lot of graffiti and talk to some people,Then jumped off the pier lol ruclips.net/video/RhAJTtCffJs/видео.htmlsi=QVc_vDDffq4aS6eo
Estoy impresionada con la limpieza de sus calles!!. Es una ciudad impecable y bella. Quedé enamorada. Que rico vivir en ella😍😘❤. Saludos a todos sus habitantes. Que Dios los bendiga
For real every video of st Pete's and tampa the streets are just dead. No people walking around its such a bummer because I plan on moving to tampa but love being out in the city where other people are
@@username4070 haven't been to Florida yet so I can't speak on the humidity, brisbane gets pretty freaking humid tho. Won't be able to compare until I get there tho I guess
Stay away from where all the city busses circle around and start there routes over. It's a small park full of homeless and drug addicts and they're not shy. It's in the south side of downtown. There's some rough spots mixed in there.
Not a bad video, just not shot at a crowded time of day. A lot of those buildings going up are finished now. More are already approved. St Pete’s is experiencing one of the largest influx of new residents in Florida. Florida itself is experiencing the largest influx of people in the country. This video although only 2 years old, is already obsolete. Check out www.stpeterising.com If you’re planning on moving here, do it before you’re priced out. If you’re not already. However, if you believe in sweat equity and aren’t afraid of a little hard work, you can still pick up something walking distance from Central Ave, and maybe the Pier (which is still under a major renovation) which is where you want to be. I’ve traveled all over Florida looking for real estate investments, and this town is on fire
There's too much noise pollution given how empty the area is. I think it's due to design of the city (Square grid design with highway size roads), speed limit being too high and the lack of noise reduction regulations that is supposed to be inforced by the state. For example, the Coke truck at 8:27 would never be allowed in European Union.
@@flint9889 It's dead just like it was for the 12 years I lived there. Locals don't support anything so most places go out of business. Even the Tampa Bay Rays are leaving because nobody goes to the games and they are a good team.
@@IanRLewis well hope that new pier live things up a bit. Eh still kinda upset about the layout. I'm sure it's gonna be some high prices restraunt at the end. There is more dovelipment being built. I was there few weeks back. There has been more restraunts n shops getting business. Sun dial is better than what it used to be .
@@flint9889 I got married on the old pier and had the reception at Cha Cha Coconuts. Not happy about the old one being torn down or the corruption that was involved. My old home in St Pete has doubled in price so I doubt I will be moving back. I see they are gentrifying more of it and displacing more families than they ever have. I do not think it will work. Most things close and go out of business there. Remember when Bay Walk got bailed out? It still looks empty. Most of the clubs on Central have changed names a 5 times in the last decade. I also see many shops left because the landlords jacked the rent up. I can't get past the ultra high crime rate and F rated schools. 2 things I can't look past now that I have 2 daughters. Not livable for families unless you can afford private schools on top of the jacked up housing prices. You really do not get any kind of bang for your buck in St Pete.
Only one big problem. Most of this video is walking AWAY from downtown. I live here. I know exactly where the camera man is going. He is going west from downtown for a very long 16 blocks as Tropicana Field (16th Street and First Ave) is on the left near the end of the walk and the SPPD station is on the right (a new one is being constructed, by the way). This is known as the Edge District as it is on the edge of downtown. I can't believe the Chihulia outdoor sculpture was missed as he breezed right by it on Central Avenue. Downtown begins at First Street and also Beach Drive. The Vinoy Hotel, the museums, parks, art galleries, marina, waterfront, all of this was missed. Williams Park was missed after breezing past the Sundial and that is the very heart of downtown. A circular route would have been better with no need to go so far west. Good try but this is 15 minutes of "not downtown" St. Petersburg, rather the Central Avenue Business District and the Edge District.
@GiovannisSanctuary disagree, south Tampa is garbage. I'd take St Pete, old NE, historic kenwood district, central, over any side of Tampa anyday. Except maybe Seminole heights, I love that area.
@GiovannisSanctuary I got the Hell out of St Pete 4 years ago. I never saw so many homeless, prostitutes, and heroin addicts. I also never saw so many people die.
@GiovannisSanctuary Crime in St Pete is almost double Jacksonville. I even checked a crime map that gives statistics. 95 percent of cities in America are safer than St Pete. That is a fact.
IT'S NICE BUT......PROPERTY TAXES ARE HIGH AF IN ST. PETE. A SHACK MILES FROM TOWN IS $190,000. AND I MEAN A 1950'S SHACK YOU'D SEE IN THE POOR SECTION OF YOUR TOWN.
Fell in love from my first visit years ago
Thank you so much for this video. So far the best one I have seen of St Pete to get a real feeling of its downtown!!
We absolutely love your videos. I want to live there and this helps showcase how wonderful it is.
Lived there once, been gone 7 years, much has improved, it looks very pretty, thank you for showing it!
housing has gotten expensive and you must have a car!
woot woot, my city!!! best place on earth.
I lived here from 2004 to mid 2015 and I loved this city. So much has improved here in the city.
Nice and clean city. I was there a few days ago.
Thanks so much for your hard work!
I lived in St.Pete for 32 years, mostly downtown near 4th St.N....I now live in Frankfort, Ky. but my heart will always remain in beautiful SP.....❤❤❤
It's like a walking simulator haha very relaxing
Glad you liked the video!
Described it perfectly

Which part of it starts “the south part” that people say to avoid for danger? I found a place near 6th ave N and 4th but dont know if safe? Thanks!
5th ave south of the hospital district

Next video can you speed it up? Even when I play it at 2x speed its boring. I like the concept, but its too slow
Just enjoy it, it's peaceful
Casey P if I wanted peaceful I’d watch nature. I was looking for info on a city I’ve never been to
I like looking around, it is a good speed for me.

Where are the ghettos areas though, lol

It's a small "City" man. But tbh. Kinda am surprised that it's not so packed like any of the main roads cutting thru the county
