  • Pierre-Auguste Renoir (25 February 1841-3 December 1919) is one of the founding members of the French painter Impressionist.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir was born in 1841 in a family of tailors in Limoges, south-central France.
I moved to Paris with my family when I was three years old. Later, Renoir joined the choir and learned vocal music.
At the age of 13, he became an apprentice of a porcelain painter, but at the age of 17 due to the industrial revolution and mechanization, Pierre-Auguste Renoir had to paint on fans and ornaments.
In 1861 Pierre-Auguste Renoir decided to become a painter and entered Charles Greil's painting school. I met later impressionist painters such as Claude Monet, Frederick Basil, and Alfred Sisley. In 1862, he entered the Public School of Fine Arts, Ecole des Beaux-Arts, and began attending in parallel with Charles Greil's atelier.
Since 1863, he has been working outdoors with Monet and Basil. It was a chance for later impressionists to be born.
In 1874, I participated in the 1st Impressionist Exhibition. The exhibited work “Odoriko” was criticized.
In 1875, he exhibited 18 paintings at the 2nd Impressionist Exhibition, but it was still criticized.
In 1877, 21 paintings were exhibited at the 3rd Impressionist Exhibition. One of Pierre-Auguste Renoir's masterpieces, “Moulin de la Garrett's Ball,” attracted attention.
In 1878 Pierre-Auguste Renoir exhibited at the salon.
In 1879, the work “Mrs Charpentier and her children” exhibited at the salon was well received. This work became an outstanding work of Pierre-Auguste Renoir and later became famous as a portrait painter.
In his later years, he continued to paint while suffering from rheumatic diseases.
On December 3, 1919 Pierre-Auguste Renoir died of pulmonary hyperemia.
