Gentlemanly tips from a learned geezer outdoorsman: Your tent pegs go in the ground at a 45 degree angle not 90 degree (straight up and down) because wind can rip out a 90 degree peg far easier. That's it....ya'll did good!
ALSO, I'm pretty sure that's the campground Rin stayed in during the 2nd/3rd episode of Yuru Camp! The one that Nadeshiko had her sister drive her to so she could make hot pot for Rin. The building looks spot on and so did the view of Mt Fuji!
I think that the angle of the pegs isn’t really a wind issue, since there probably isn’t too much wind there. The angle is important to resist the tension from the tent and avoid getting ripped out of the ground if the ground is loose. I’ve also done camping before so yea
@@mynthics State Certified trail guide here...been getting paid for 13 years to take city families into the woods for week long nature hike experiences. No wind now does not mean no wind later. 45 degree angles are for that reason first and foremost. 90 degree pegs will hold tent's up just fine...until the breeze that wasn't there 5 minutes ago starts (they were in an open-ish field, dusk brings temp change which brings breezes, open-ish field means no trees to break up wind)...Camping is what I know as it's a good chunk of my income for over a decade.

@@KainiusTheGreat Wouldn't be the first time I've experienced something like that. From people whose tent collapsed because it wasn't properly secured (I totally agree with you on the "no wind now..."), to people who bought really cheap tents that got flooded by a little bit of rain, to others who went to the toilet in the middle of the night and collapsed their own tent because they tripped over the guy ropes of their own tent. It's funny when someone starts screaming and shouting in the middle of the night. Depending on the situation you should get up and help out though. If a family with little kids has a collapsed tent in the middle of the night that's not a situation people should just watch and laugh at. My own family went camping all year round for the past 30 years or so. I've done that since I was a small child. I audibly groaned at them trying to make firewood, that was a bit too painful to watch. At that point I really wanted to start backseat camping.

Well done! Not sure if anyone is responsible for the chair given how the wind was picking up. Remember to stay hydrated and use your bug repellent. Be sure to keep some containers for H2O- Animal fat and ash can make lye soap if necessary [wall of text/book: deleted] good luck, be smart. For kindling, hold the ax blade against the wood with the log parallel to the handle so you can grip both, the strike against one of the other logs. You can also use the ax like a chisel and use a log like a mallet. Plz be careful I'll shut up now and go somewhere else to worry
