    hello wire fans👽 So, on the cover of object 47 album. you see a water tower that looks really cool and obscure art colin does for his covers. which I dig them all of course. the bolanderna tower is located in uppsala Sweden by a McDonald's restaurant. Google it and take a gander

    OMFG I only recent got this album but this track is now my favorite Wire song ever! Like others have stated here each of their albums are different. They are true artists creating art; not just pop bullshit. I got into Wire about 25 years ago based on Michael Stype of REM saying they were his favorite band. I'm on board with that one!

    Colin Newman wrote, and indeed, still writes, most of the music. Lewis' writes mostly the lyrics. Not really sure what Gilbert's main contributions were. This track was written and recorded after he left the band, as was everything on this album, Anyone who doubts that Newman has always been the principle songwriting talent inthe band should listen to the most recent albums, "Red Barked Tree" and "Change Becomes Us". You don't really notice that Gilbert isn't there.

    • @Brewzerr
      @Brewzerr 6 лет назад +3

      Bruce Gilbert’s contribution was always 2nd guitar interplay/contrast, unorthodox background noises, and various sonic enhancements which added dimension. All of which were very important ingredients in Wire’s overall sound, but since his departure that void has been filled very effectively by newest member Matthew Simms. This was the one album where Colin handled all those parts though. Matthew wasn’t brought on board until the next album - Red Barked Tree.

    @wirehq Record shops? You mean the one in Gimbels or the one in Woolwoths? XD Whatever, at least these guys are still at it. Unlike most "aging rockers", Wire still actually sounds like .. well .. like Wire. You know, not like Clampton or whatever all "we're old now so you should just applaud us for showing up and being icons"
    ... and yes, how can @1nnervision use RUclips and not know how to use Google or amazon? They might as well hold a cassette recorder.against the speaker and tape it.

    @1nnervision Someone sends you the music, the record company makes no money. Therefore they only invest in mainstream artists (I use that term lightly) that will make them money & have none left over to invest in the real, creative, original & ground breaking musicians that don't make them any money but ultimately are the most important of all.

    No matter, Colin Graham and Robert have yet again writtng the song i sing throughout the dya, musing the lyrics just affirms their unofficial status as laureats of the planet.
